Huh. I was wondering why I had so few losses.

Wow, thank you for finding that problem with the load outs. I'm fixing it now. I am really embarrassed about that.
The airfield part was intended, as was leaving out the Chinese SAGs/SSNs. I'd been trying to nail down a releasable scenario but wasted a lot of time (and playability) as a result of scope creep. At one point this scenario was a nearly 1800 AU count monstrosity lasting two weeks, with multiple CSGs/ESGs on the US side, strategic bombers taking off from Louisiana/Kansas/Missouri (and required tanker support) an ASW screen and SSN chasing the SSGN around, nearly 400 Chinese aircraft, the Liaoning CVBG, Taiwan/Vietnam/Philipines neutral air and sea traffic, DF-21s, mine warfare, and BMD.
It was much more exciting to think about than to play, especially the parts where you have to escort several Avenger-class minesweepers into the South China Sea and attempt to slip a SEAL team from the Seawolf onto Hainan Island itself, so I cut most of it out in the interest of focusing on the core experience. I fully intend to revisit some of the other interesting elements from that, just not in a single scenario. I didn't think anyone would like the feeling of things moving too slowly while simultaneously being overwhelmed, I know I was acutely aware of how unfun it was when my last MCM ship ended up stranded when it ran out of fuel and I realized I'd need to add oilers too.
Again though; mea cupla, I will do better in the future.

No worries mate, we all do the same mistakes when it comes to scenario creation. What I really liked about the scenario was that you had one objective on which you can really focus all along so nice that you took off the secondary stuff. Maybe you should also put "ready time" for chinese interceptors so that there are multiple smaller battles instead of a single huge air war (depends on what you prefer). I do think 3 Chinese nice ships in AA defensive positions instead of some SAMs would be really nice !
For the rest as I said earlier really fun to play (I should recommend to also take out some of the tomahawks and put anti runways bomb, it would make it harder and more rewarding to destroy the enemy airfields

)
Cheers
