This AAR is amazing. Well done Daz. For your info, a shedload of allied reinforcements enter on Day 2 & 3 from the northwest edge of the map. Try and take Hotton by the end of Day 2 if you can. I look forward to more wonderful screenshots and artwork.

Lol, Daz. Looks a bit absurd, with those 'footprints' overlapping TF Hogan and nothing happening for so long. You send a save in? I would have given another order long ago, I'm afraid.

Its one of those things where you just say to yourself leave it 5 more min, Im sure they will surrender, then 5 min becomes an hour etc.

I sent a save to Miguel, but not sure if he is still active.
I have decided to drop the issue anyway.
I want to be playing with the planning graphics, and new interface of Command Ops 2, and this will only slow things down for them.
I think Dave has spent way more unpaid man hours supporting a very old game, than anyone should have to.

I have been suspicious of unrealistic outcomes with defending HQ's for a while, and have mentioned it before several times. I even did some tests on them.
This is the first conclusive example I have been able to come up with, so its not all that broken.
Platoon sized AC units are also fishy.
Not the Coy size ones though for some reason, but I don't have a conclusive example of this yet, as there is always something else interfering, that may, but is unlikely to, have an influence on the outcome of that example.
No one else seems bothered by them though so lets just carry on.

I am about to do the next hour of the AAR, and will be issuing the attacking Coy's new orders. Lets see what happens.

Its amazing the impact a small issue can have in this kind of game, or indeed in real life.
One small issue can lead to a whole chain of problems.
That's why the "minutae details" are so important in this kind of game.
If the game was faster paced, this interaction with the HQ may have gone un-noticed, and the player would have been left wondering why he was left with a draw, when it should have been a decisive victory.

Being held up by TF Hogan HQ for so long has not only had a knock on effect on my schedule for taking the bridge, but it has also affected the combat effectiveness of the 2 main infantry Coy's, involved in securing it.
The Objective became active at D1, 20:00, and without the holdup, 60 Pz Gren Regt would already been settled into defensive positions around Hotton, and getting the vital rest they will need to fend of the inevitable counter attacks.
This is assuming all goes well with the attack on the bridge itself.
Instead most are waiting around in vulnerable positions, in the cold, which is not conducive for good rest, (units recover faster in built up areas in cold weather), while my main infantry component gets more, and more fatigued, and ineffective trying to take out a unit that should have folded hours ago.

I am now starting to lose points by not holding the bridge, and my patience is running thin with TF Hogan HQ issue.
