The overall losses for the turn were not very impressive.

I forgot to mention that Italy declared war on the Commonwealth, but failed to damage the British convoys. There was little reason for waiting to declare war : being in the war would eventualy let Germany sent in some resources and boost the Italian economy. Meanwhile, it doesn't seem that much will actually happen, since the British have lost interest in the Mediterranean, while an attack on the Italian convoys looks unlikely: is it worth risking ships to face the whole Italian fleet for a single convoy which one is not even sure to catch ?

The front line in China is clear in the center, but all hell is breaking lose in the North.

In France, depending on the weather, the Wehrmacht is now ready to tackle the French army.
French have more corps, but the German ones are much stronger.
And the French air force is still pathetic, despite some successes in downing some German planes. It is clear that losses will not be replaced, at the current French production rate.

I enjoy the amount of detail you put into your AARs. [8D] Keep up the good reporting.

And once more I get quite angry at bugs that should have long been solved.
I discover that most of the oil that I am storing just keeps disappearing (or not being saved, which is the same!)

Three turns that the CW is keeping surplus oil in various places. At least 6 every turn after oil usage. But I don't have 18 oils on map. The production plannings tells of 8.

Same goes for Germany which is saving 3 per turn (after oil usage) but has only 5 on map, or Japan which is also saving 3 per turn, but has only 6 on map. Both will severely suffer from such a bug.

One of the problem seems to be that once there is one oil on a city, the game won't add more. But there is more, as even when I change the saving city, the saved oils don't always appear... This kind of bug is really p**g me off as, unlike some of the subbtle bugs that can happen in complex situations (abort a ship, intercept the aborting ships etc.) this only entails adding a counter on the map at a known hex or increasing a counter value (everything, and in particular the validity of it has already been determined in the production planning panel) ; so there is really nothing here!

I believe that as long as the game has bugs of that kind, there should be an edit mode, where, as in the boardgame, players could put or remove counters at will (especially in solo games). This would make such bugs at least bearable.

It also bodes ill for the future of the game that such bugs are still there 6 months after the release.

Yes, those bugs are known. Production is now dealt with by Steve (together with a couple of digression supply bugs). So in a couple of months, these will be gone (hopefully).

On your question on attacking the Italians in the MED.
Do so. The CW should be prepaired to use it's fleet against the Euroaxis, because they have the advantage in numbers. Sink them if you can, because an exchange in number of ships is good for the Allies (and even some more losses are acceptable).

Those CW BB's should get a lot of action in the Med if the Italians have DoW'ed the CW...

Yes, I know that the CW can exchange ship to ship, stripping the Italian of their whole navy.
However, the problem is the right timing.
Unsure about that one.
It might be smarter to wait and see what the german do next. Or possibly not.

Now that I think of it, possibly now is better: few planes means that the battleship firepower can really serve.

The situation in Belgium not being well organized between France and the Commonwealth, the Commonwealth prefers to seize the initiatie to shuffle some units. Not knowing the weather, Germany lets it take it, hoping to recover its +2 position at the end of the turn, something that could be of tremendous importance for the next turn.

Indeed, the French front is clearly reorganized.

In China, the communists take the opportunity offered by the good weather to capture the resource near Tsinan, and more generally to threaten the whole Japanese position, outflanking the small garrisons around Taiyuan.

In South China, the situation is not that good for the Chinese. No holes in the Japanese line, and a menacing force around Yamamoto, which will hopefully be dragged North to counter the communist threat.

In France, Germany opens up with a ground strike to soften up the french defense.

The result is satidfying, especially considering the loss of a French fighter.

A lone, but powerfull attack breaks the French lines.
The result is perfect.
Should the weather stay good, this could force a french retreat or risk more losses either north or south.

In China, the japanese have decided on a strategy : break Tchiang, even if this means losing control of the north temporarily.
The Yamamoto force attacks in the direction of Tchang, while a group breaks the pressure around Hangchow.

Both attacks succeed well, opening holes in the front line and jeopardizing the whole line strength.

Nanyang too is under pressure.

Hopefully for the allies, the weather again turns sour.
This prevents an advance of the communists ; but is it really in order now ?
They take control of ChengChow, vacated by the nationalist troops which are sent south as reinforcement.

In the south, Tchiang retreats.
The odds are bad, with a 32 factor group around Yamamoto and a 24 factor group along the coast. Both are deadly.

How is supply in China? Have you noticed any improvement?

On that one, yes, definitely.
I was stuck with awful supply bugs in my previous AAR. These seem to have gone away.
