Does anyone know wherever there is a limit to a number of resources you can have?

Do you mean "number of different resources" or "amount of resources"?
"Number of different resources:"
From the modding guide:
Each line in the file defines a single
resource with comma-separated data,
up to a maximum of 80 resources (0-79).

Is there any "collection" of resource ideas/discussion which maybe could be correlated between the different mods?!
Would be interesting...
... but it is good to know about "energy minerals/non-gas-problems". I also have "brainstormed" a little bit and, well, URANIUM and ORICHALCUM has been added on my list... [8|]

How about a kinda-workaround solution?
having nuclear reactors takes some/somemore uranium to produce while using very little fuel? for balancing, they give just so much energy output that in many cases, Hydrogen-generators would be the way to go.
let's say,
Nuclear 30 energie/fuel vs Hydrogen 3 energie/fuel ,but:
Nuclear 2 energie/size vs Hydrogen 6 energie/size
also, i don't have experience in using 2 different reactors (even possible?) like using some nuclear reactors as well as some batteries, having a ship capable of fighting for a minute but loosing efficence very fast after that
nevermind that... the AI would most liky not beeing able to use that
