Custom Ship Names Mod
This mod includes thousands of real ship names which include every ship from every navy that put to sea within the past 115 years. Also included are thousands of civilian ship names for freighters, passenger liners, etc.

Custom Colony Names Mod
This mod contains well over a thousand colony names taken from the names of gods, goddesses, and mythological heroes from dozens of different cultures around the world.

Is this the best place to look at the latest mods? the posting dates don't exactly line up with that.. unless there are no 2016 mods... ?

I would assume so. This place as in this thread and forum. Any "great" mod is likely to have a rather high number of posts in its thread, and be on the first page or three.

Keep in mind that information is likely to be posted when a mod is "new" and quite released, and 2016 is only a month old or so. And Universe has been out for quite a while, so the "new great mod bonanza" is likely to be over

I can't decide between Starfall, AI improvement mod, or Unleased II mods..

as those appear to be the only updated and well worth playing ones from all the forums..

Try them all, they only cost whatever price you pay for internet traffic

Unleashed Extended (if that was the one you meant) seems to have the AI mod included.

Early alpha version of my Star Wars mod is available to download.
Mod is still being worked on but patches will be coming out daily to add more to the mod.
