Does anyone have any good images of the later New Republic ships? Or any other SW ships? I'm trying to make an "Imperial fragmentation" mini/personal mod, and I'm running a bit short.

I was not able to find anything of worth but then I found

To find the pictures I went to http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Category ... ip_classes

to find the classes of starship for New Republic.

Then did a google search images for CC-7700 frigate star wars and found nothing.

Then searched for CC-7700 frigate and fund the link avove

Looking for the CR90 corvette I found this

i used this to find most of the ships for my star trek mod... some of the pics needing photoshop work though


Also look through deviantart.com... search for whatever ship class you are looking for...it may be there...but you might need to use different searches to find it if there.

I need a good set of choices for the NR, and a lot of choices to give each IR warlord faction a different flavor besides slightly changed stats. I'll also take any higher quality images of ships I already have. Hell, throw in any legacy-era ships you have too.

Awesome, been waiting for this for a while. Badly messed up my first Confederacy game though, accidentally made myself a one planet empire without warp technology in the middle of Imperial space. It was simply a matter of watching as Imperial fleets slowly amassed around my home world. [:'(]

Unfortunately it's a bit hard to isolate the single ship image and white out the background. I may try a few though.

Actually there is a way to isolate the ship from the background......

I use pain.net and first use the magic wand to try and select areas of the background to remove.... adjust the tolerance bar left or right and often you can get the entire background selected and you press DEL and the only thing left is the ship.

If the magic wand can not separate the ship from the background, use the ellipse select tool . Zoom in to your picture by 500%, very important, and now you can clearly see the ship outline from the background. Draw an ellipse outside the outline of the ship and press DEL to delete the background. Do this all the way around the outline of the ship.

By zooming in 500% it is a lot easier to select the background from the ship as you will see all the background pixels that need to be removed.....

Hope that makes sense.

In the picture below I am separating Locutus of Borg from the background using the method above...... for smaller spaces just zoom in further or the task is difficult and will take time.

By zooming in by up to 900% it took me 10 minutes to separate Locutus from a diffacult background.

So if it is hard to isolate the ship, you need to zoom in closer.

GIMP has an auto-cropping tool that allows you to pretty quickly (2-3 min) select the outline of the ship. Problem is it can sometimes chop off turrets so we'll see...I'm also a bit unhappy with having some really nice high-detailed models and having to mix them with what are essentially blobs of paint...

Well, I have great news. I figured out how to control the camera in Star Wars: Empire at War to get good top view images of ships. Since that game has a thriving mod community, that means there are potentially hundreds of ships available. It's just a matter of minimizing shadows, orienting them properly, then trimming the screenshots.

I'd personally give the Empire a hefty disapproval penalty (they have to build the Death Star to keep order after all) and rebels a bonus as they are fighting for freedom etc. Otherwise - looks cool

This is a good idea. Empire should have a good economy and strong military, but high corruption/very low approval, while the rebels have a weaker base economy and military (they did have to rely on smugglers and hand-me-down tech after all) but very high approval and like a +99% espionage modifier lol.

I'm looking around for diplomacy mood music [&:]

I know I'm a bit late to the party but check out the OST for Star Wars the Old Republic MMO. It has some of the best original Star Wars music I have ever come across. Ignore the tracks pertaining to cantinas and focus on the orchestral tracks. They are absolutely superb. Lastly, it's impossible to get a hold of the entire OST afaik but you can download at least half of the songs for free.

Why will wookie be non playable? Or I guess they are more like a pirate?

Probably like the mechnoids, a non-expanding non-playable faction you can trade and ally with, but who will never expand from their homeworld.

Lets say wookies to be very close to the republic and rebels. but absolutly hate the empire and sith.

I could then do this aswell for the trade federation and mechoids and ectra.

Hapes Consortium, Corperate Sector Authority, Bothan Sector, Chiss Ascendancy...yeah that could work out well. I can probably get you ship images for most of them if you want, maybe not bothan or wookiee thoough cause they never really had specific ships besides bothan assault cruisers.

Working on getting all the Legacy Era ships right now.
