Fortunately, I have a lot of cavalry in the area and they are able to route the motorized division. The armament points are promptly evacuated.

In the center I am also able to route a Panzer division.

The giant Panzer blob has crossed the river. My thinking here is clearly wrong. I should keep most of my troops north of the Valdai and not focus so much on the rough hexes.

Slow fighting retreat in the center.

In the south I displace an unprotected Panzer Corps and cut off three divisions. Lots of counter attacks.

T9 - North

He punches a hole in my wall and pushes his tanks through. No units are encircled or ZOC locked but it's clear that I will not be able to stop this Panzer ball. I can only abandon Leningrad, setup a defensive line in the swamp and prepare for the denfence of Moscow. And I can hope for mud.

I decide to resign the game. But before that I do some more attacking. The attack in the screenshot is kind of crazy if you ask me. I never thought that would work. It cuts off the entire spearhead. But this is meaningless because LVI Corps is in the pocket and has at least 800 fuel.

One attack in the center that cuts of a motorized division.

And another three attacks in the South. It was interesting to see how easy it still is to get combat victories against the Germans. I don't think I attack a single infantry divisions.

Oshawott, what made you resign the game at that point?

T7 - South

The south is funny. He crosses the Dnepr in force and moves a motorized division all the way to Kharkov to lock the industry. [:D]

Care to share your evacuation plan/efforts? What were your plans and what did you actually do?

One of the subtle changes in 1.08 is that real math instead if integer math is used for the purpose of production multipliers.

I can't understand... You almost destroyed Pelton's panzer divisions (he lost a lot of tanks) in 9 turns and then you resign? Why? So far you were in a good position in my opinion. Let me know.

Once the right hook lands your done as SHC.

As he stated he had way to many troops to the north.

That big panzer ball would pocket some troops turn 10 then roll on to Moscow.

In this case random weather was a bad thing for Russia.

Pelton kicked my butt a while back doing the same thing, I was not smart like Oshawoot and fought on until late 1942.
