Ditto, load up x86 Visual C++ libraries and you are good to go.

No problem, I just remembered it from closed beta when my laptop wasn't working and my desktop was. Just had to remember where to dig through old reports to find it.
Just too bad I was at work earlier or I could've provided the answer sooner.
Credit to ftroiano58 too for also figuring it out! Hopefully this works for everyone.

then initially also just try the X86 version and let us know what happens. Leave the X64 alone then to start. (32 bit = X86)

Yes. They added that to installers.

Guys, try installing the X86 redistributable, even though you have a 64 bit computer. You should have both x64 and x86 installed.

Dont need 2013.
here's what your installed programs list should look like, red outline is the one that fixed this for me in closed beta.
For some reason I got this error when trying to run the game on my 2 and 1/2 year old laptop but not on my 5 year old desktop.
Running the x86 redistributable fixed it (though I show the current link as: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=30679 )
