In fact it not responding window during AI turn is a game issue, but it very variable and depends on the CPU power.

Initial problem with black outs after the battles is something different and so far I can't replicate it.

Hmmm, not much luck. I removed the sound folder and reverted to windowed mode, replayed a turn of Husky from my saved file. I managed to play a good series of deliberate and hasty attacks with no sign of the black screen. I then restored the sound folder, replayed another similar turn of Husky, and was unable to experience the black screens!!!. For the last day or so I have been playing a campaign game in full screen mode and have had no black screens after combat with this.
