Playing GHC I am also usually ignoring Kiev. Unless the east bank is undefended (did happen to me).

The game looks interesting, subscribing.

Although I must admin I'm not fan of sudden death modes (except it's Worms game where a single match takes 15 minutes), this can result in unrealistic last-turn land-grabs, which would otherwise result in a disaster. I understand that for more competetive people it allows to quickly move on to another game if this one is "hopeless" (in other words: not the best possible).

This can be problem only if one or both sides are playing for win at all cost. I believe none of us is such kind of player.

Then, I believe, sudden death mode can ruin the game at any moment, when you would not wish that, because you would be preparing or executing some interesting operation, and whatever you planned would not come to pass and the invested hours would be wasted.

GHC should start pocketing units asap, does not look like any industry is in danger.

17.7.1941-23.7.1941

Clear weather everywhere.

Factory evacuation:
20 vehicles from Charkov
2 armament points from Kremenchug
2 KV-1 from Leningrad

Pskov with 3 division was isolated this turn. Looking back(we are at Soviet T7 now), I could have deployed the defense better.

In center the landbridge was mostly abandoned, I left there only few strongholds and some screening units. More to the south Panzers have crossed also Pronya river what I did not expect.

First real counter attack took place in the south. 2 SS divisions have crossed Dneper and I decided to throw them back. Germans had bad luck because they have chosen for crossing area with the strongest units from SW front. With none Soviet advantage the attack was not certain thing. It was close call, losses were huge. I am not sure if it was worth sacrificing some of the best units I have.

24.7.1941 - 30.7.1941

Clear weather.

Factory evacuation:
6 vehicles from Leningrad
4 HI points from Bryansk
4 armament points from Bryansk
4 armament points from Ordzhonikidzegrad
18 T-40 from Moscow
1 IL-10 from Voronezh

One Pz Korps from AGN have reached Luga line, the other one did build up near Pskov. So far the situation is not critical in the north.

My screening units on the landbridge were ignored and outflanked. There was no point the stay longer on the landbridge therefore I have retreated behind Smolensk.

Units which have participated on the counter attack last turn are doomed. Most of them are 50+ morale [:(]
And another retreat in the south of course.

Not bad for turn 6 north and center your doing good and the south is horrible for GHC=great for you.

Looks like he is very hvy Kiev north so your not going to lose any industry it looks like.

Not looking good for him unless he is killing allot of your men.

I am waiting for turn 10 now. So far no major pockets.
But it still can go wrong for me. Tula and Stalino are within reach of Panzers and are still full of industry.

31.7.1941 - 6.8.1941

Industry evacuated:

No change in the middle. Maybe my retreat from previous turn was too much as Germans were not been able to follow me this turn.

Around Kiev 11 divisions and 1 brigade ended in pocket with no hope for rescue. Nothing disastrous however some high quality units and thats pity.
