Neutral means pretty much what it says on the tin, Japan and the Holy Roman Empire are not aligned with the other factions. One of the other factions could attack them but since the starting formations are just light infantry with little to no offensive value, and of course they run the risk of bringing both the neutral powers in against them, so I would expect only diplomacy from the two warring factions. Not being aligned allows you more preparation time you can stay neutral and spend more time on preparation.
I don't think everyone was in agreement or understood, or else I misunderstood. One message asked me what I was doing as they thought it was supposed to be a 3 v 3 game. And I was attacked by one of the countries I had declared war on. My troops are in a rather divided situation, as the attack nearly cut me in half. Maybe some hadn't looked at this forum for awhile?

For a 3V3 the problem is the map for instance the Russians are on a Island with the British and Germans so that's a 2 v 1 (No prizes for guessing how that will turn out and its game over) the map needs to be no Oceans with the 3 players fairly equally distributed facing their opponents who in turn are equally distributed but capable of supporting each others. to be fair to the newish players no insult intended, I was attempting to remove them from the mayhem by having a neutral status that they could break in their own time.
I suggest a restart with a map that can support a fair 3 V 3 and try and balance the sides in relation to player experience. These games can be great fun but they can often be lost before they start by bad maps.
No Water.

As I look back at my last posts, it seems like I'm complaining too much. I apologize. I think I could play it out and LEARN plenty from this map/opponents, win, lose, or draw. If everyone wants a restart I am ok with it, but I can play from here if not.

I don't mind starting over assuming we can get all 6 to agree. I suspect several of the others are not reading this though.

I'm reading. Whatever the majority agree to do here is ok with me.

Seems to be pointing towards a restart. The problem with a isolated Russian player will only be resolved with a restart.

Nationalities I am not to concerned about but I feel it should be down to the map creator, whoever that is to allocate them on the basis of geographic location, in other words what looks best considering the alliances, if peoples national choices can be accommodated all well and good.

Ok made the new map no oceans 1937 start and limited roads. I did wrap around and mirror image.
the countries are
Germania ( twotribes)
Fascist Empire
Nippon
The Confederates
Albion
Eastern Empire
The teams are....
Germania, eastern Empire, The Confederates
and
ALbion, Nippon, Fascist Empire.
Since several of the Countries have similar names to the old game I suggest we get confirmation on everyone before I load it to drop box.

I am willing to just play this one out and have some fun doing it. I am the newest player to ATG among us, and I am already a neutral country (no alliances), so if we play it and it turns out badly for HR Empire, it will still be a learning experience for me. If you want to start another game as a 2 v 2 or something, I would be glad to play in that one also. But if you would rather just have more experienced players, it won't bother me. The games I am playing seem to go at a moderate pace and I think I could fit another in.

No idea he either continues or he doesn't, regards the setup of the game my opponents have lost before they start, not the kind of game I like to take part in, but if they don't mind having their butts kicked, then I will cheerfully oblige.

Another newbie pbem question. I have been copy/paste the pbem turns. I have been putting the saved turns from all my pbem games in a old pbem folder on my saved games area after playing and saving and copy to dropbox. Can I delete these without affecting the game?

As far as I know the files in Dropbox are stored in dedicated memory at Dropbox (you can upgrade for more storage memory but its going to cost you) so they will not take up room on your hard Drive, you can delete your own turns in the Old Turns Folder that is in the game folder at Dropbox, but to be honest I don't see the point once the game is finished I tend to leave the shared folder, the reason old files are kept is to allow players to open them once the game is finished, for curiosity sake, If you are storing saved turns anywhere other than the shared folder that's up to you but its taking up space on your hard drive. There is no reason why you cannot delete these files just don't open them while the game is ongoing as this can generate a game message, about cheating I guess because its possible to gather intel from opening the previous turn.

Thanks. I'm back to neutral in this game, and I'm having an interesting time as I try to build a small Navy. Very expensive and time consuming. I can see why Bomburs GD1938 mod is so popular. Lots of ships and subs to work with at start.
