Some can change, some cannot, and therefore become obsolete.
I have jumped on John many times in the past, but only because of his despicable behavior.
No tears shed.

It's both a good and bad thing. It's such a good game that people get really invested in it. People who get invested, usually get emotional. Then you throw the AFB vs. JFB, history vs. game play and oh boy.
If it wasn't good game, none of this would be happening.
I think Xanax would be a good addition to this forums at time. Or Marijuana, definitely marijuana (no offense meant. I take neither). But Chill. Take a step back. It's a game.
On the positive note, there's scenarios for everyone. More historical, such as stock (scen 1), more radical and less historical. The important part is find the scenario you like, the player you like and have fun. No game is perfect and neither is this, but it's about as close to it as you can get. Except not having a unit auto un-strat when it reaches it target. Hate that. And subs in general, their very existence is an affront to honor and humanity and Gorns, which is why Gorns hate Romulans and clocking devices. Hate them.

Wow.....I'm going to miss getting Symonized from time to time! I have always had a wee SM fetish.

Just check before starting the grand campaign, if the scenario is bug free.
Check the two US Corps HQ on Luzon for their TOEs (previously had none) and Bird battalions for correct number of motorized support. Mine had 162 mot support per battalion - a real hell to transport.
I don't think the latest version of scenario 28 has incorporated the fixes.
EDIT: The DaBigBabes site says:
"
"v015: 04/10/15 Error Corrections, Cleanup"
Which errors have been fixed is not explained.

Not so fast - Symon's message says that "they" (I assume that means the DBB team) no longer support their scenarios (I assume that is not only "Operation SF" but all other scenarios including DBB) on this forum.
I only know the official DaBabes Website - I suggest that you contact Symon by mail (via link in his profile) to check on any work in progress.
John is gone. He won’t return. He is working on a book project that will take 3 years to complete. He comes to College Station, every month or so, to consult with the Marine Archeology people and I put him up. We talk.
He still plays, and is a Master Umpire. But our system is so far different from AE that what we do is not portable to the Matrix title. We routinely look at possibilities, but they often require background that is not otherwise available in the commercial game.
I think you must live with what you have. Babes changes to the AE system have been documented fully, so going forward one needs to follow the paradigm if one wants to make fundamental changes. It’s hard and takes a great deal of research and math. You might be rewarded by investing that degree of effort.

US87891-
It is difficult to consider the future without John; I enjoyed his insights and incredible knowledge of how it all fit together and worked. My respect for all the Mod teams, in regards to sheer research and work, is high; the Babes Team will always be at the top of the list.
A sincere "Thank You" to the Babes Team for all the wonderful work and effort put into the DBB mod in all it's flavors; there is still so much to uncover and learn over time through playing AE.
I am very pleased that John is focused on writing and publishing his book; I know and trust that it will give him a deep sense of satisfaction.
Time heals all wounds; there have been many differences of opinions on this forum. The fact that this is the only forum I visit (and enjoy enormously) says much about those who frequent and post- whose company I enjoy and become accustomed to.
Please tell him that I miss him, and thank him for all that he has done for AE in general and me in particular. John was an awesome mentor.
Sincerely, Mac
