No kills this time, other than that Greyhound that was sitting in the open immoblized. The US drops heavy arty 155s in bunches that turn pounding the revese slope of a large hill in the south. Also hitting the woods in the north, most of my arty was silent that turn, moving to stay away from counter battery fire.

All those Hellcats looked bored, even managed to kill one, bonus;)

Not much this turn, spotted rangers in the center move toward the center Vhexs. B-man is pounding the Northern woods with 155

Impatience....

Post by Belisarius »

Well, I think those Hellcats aren't bored anymore... ;)

Mostly regrouping time, and diverting some units to rummage through our back woods looking for those PESKY infiltrators! Fighting dirty, eh? Lost an M20 scout this time.

V2 is one of the best, no doubt. But I'm growing tired of his not wanting to fight me. So far there's been some artillery exchanges, some scouts and those PESKY infiltrators. That's it! C'mon! I know you've got a litter of Kitties back there - what are you afraid of? My Shermans? :p

And - assigning an 81mm mortar to take care of a singe, lone .30 cal? I'm honored... :p

A note of observation: Those 105mm Camion pieces are among the most effective pieces of artillery I've seen.

Next time I play axis, I'll make a note of getting some of them.

Dear bored

I own four of the five Vhex clusters and are working on the one with the US synbols on it. Currently progressing in the direction of that 4 Vhex cluster, if you want to know where I am please look at the Vhexs with the German symbols on them you will find plenty of Germans there. My early attenpts at advancement in the north were met with rather large arty and AT gun fire. In the south you have a large force of mostly infantry that where I have decided to work, note the large holes I have been putting in the groud. Your right Italy does have some very useful gear, and that SP 105 can double as a AT gun, an let me tell you about the flame squads they have, no wait if that Bazooka team in the rocks will just take one more step:rolleyes:

Doing what I can to make it more exciting. :p Not that we see much of it now, as I regroup like hell.

Got one of those Saharianas! YES! :D Sometimes it pays off to have bazooka teams running around.

More arty exchange - I hit some FJs, V-man doesn't. :p

B-mans attack force is fronted by many teams of Bazookas backed by infantry, hmmm I wonder why my tanks arn't charging into them and taking side shots from hidden bakooka teams hmmmm:rolleyes:

Looks like terrain has mde this a infantry fight, several Bazzoka teams have been spotted on the center hill a team or two up north and some down south, there moving slow and very difficult to spot, some of them have already run out of HE round I need to concentrate on them first back to you B- man ( Not a Sissy )

Umf. Not fun to see your zookas run out of ammo before they even spot enemy armor. ;)

We reclaim 2 VHs in the north-center (where we have two groups real tight together - 4 to the north and 5 to the center, with <10 hexes inbetween).

Not much else to do, i'm facing the shoot-and-scoot enemy. Now he's there, now he's not! :p Popped more smoke.

Here, kittie kittie.....

U.S. army is a bunch of sissys!

Post by Belisarius »

All that preparation for nothing! The U.S. army is just not tough enough to face the Germans. They get scared waay to easily, and most irritating of all - they don't even return fire! So much for the value of suppression... but this will be an excellent lesson for next time I MAUL my U.S. opponents.

Here's the result: A (1) Tiger, a 75mm PAK and some Italians is, evidently, all that's needed to break up a U.S. offensive. The Mite that is the Sherman. :D This last turn, the score is in the lines of

GE: ~a platoon of Shermans turned BBQ racks.

US: Jack $hit!!!!

...it may also be that V2 is just a bit too good for me... he's the master of Knowing Your Line of Sight.

I got nothin' :p

Pushing Foward

Post by VikingNo2 »

In the North a Sherman 105 and 2 M4s bite the bullet put some rounds into the infantry support, with no kills, a halftrack dies as well.

In the Center Fighting with hidden Rangers has left me in some bad position, killed a Bazooka team and forced some infantry back

In the south B-man still hold the vhexs gots some 155 dropped on my infantry:mad: . Killed two Hellcats and 3 M4s in the south my own arty got some payback.

Back to you, next Game lets switch sides

I have only myself to blame.

I HATE when my opponent picks from other armies, and yet I willingly let a pro like Viking do it! I'll tell you all, those Saharianas of his may not look much, but they're ripping me apart. Much better than any 222 I've seen. *sigh*

My armored assault is now down to 4 vehicles. Two turns work for the Germans. Some have been killed outright by AT shells, stray bullets, butterflies landing on them and whatnot. The rest have been abandoned in the hail of oncoming automatic 20mm fire from those armored cars!

Only brave americans I've seen this turn is a Wolverine crew hwo slugged it out with a Tiger at ONE hex, despite being fired upon from three directions! :) Nice work, nice sacrifice. No Tiger dead, but I didn't count on it either.

You have to give me a VERY good reason why I shouldn't F9 this right now, Viking...

Yep, lets switch sides next game. And by gawd we're not playing any later period than this, June '44. It stinks when the Wolverine is the heaviest gun you can field.... .:p
