Adjacent to enemy units, unable to rout out of line of sight of threat the UK leader is eliminated at the end of the UK Rout phase. Again, yes!
Now the close combat phase.

Told you guys, run, run baby boys. Should have listen.
Obj 1 is secured, Obj 3 is controlled. Things are looking good.

Turn 6, UK side.
Howitzer fired at the leader and squad in the woods and hit them hard (Leader broken +).
The German units retaliate with accurate fire, UK crew is broken.

Turn 7, GE side.
It all or nothing.
Howitzer is out of action, LMG squad will not come back, PIAT squad is not a big threat. Let's rock!

Turn 7, UK side.
German defensive fire was quite accurate, howitzer crew is destroyed, PIAT squad is broken.
The British force ceased to be an effective combat unit, 1 leader is left along 2 broken squads.

All secured.
The restaurant is finally under German control. Because of his outstanding performance during this battle the famous 1st platoon leader voluntered for cleaning a bit the place (close combat was not done with surgical precision).
Cooks came in, Ah! nothing can beat the smell of nice food cooking slowly after a good fight!
Major will have his lunch!
Victory.

Final review.
Quite pleased with this, 2 squads lost, all objectives secured. I would not have bet on it on turn 4.

I noticed that you can see all units from both sides at the start of the battle, what are the FOW options?
No you can't.
All the GE units are on the map because they are mine (human player side).
UK PIAT unit is visible because in the LOS of GE units.
FOW was enable. Only two options, enable or disable.

This really brings back memories of playing SL (I know, this is more aligned with ASL, but I never got into the ASL series).
Thanks!

I am totally confused by what I am seeing, will you see actual gunfire as you play, bombs exploding, Los, what! It looks like and seems like it should be played on a board with dice. You have to forgive me Peter and xavutrecht but after MWIF I am leery of everything I see, and being told, but sincerley appreciate your AAR effort as it is not easy to do as I found out the hard way doing AAR's for MWIF.
I know Matrix does have a policy not to put out demo's which I have lambasted them for this, so maybe the proof in the pudding is to watch it played on you tube for a while before purchasing it [:(]
I am looking for a good tacticle game and as of yet not convinced of this one.
Hopefully things will change and give me some hope.

IMHO it's an SL/ASL like game. Very close to a boargame. Perfect when a player (alone, leaving far from other players, sigh!) wants to dig again into those monsters.

Thanks for posting this. It appears to play quite straight forward.
Thanks!

In these screenshots the graphics look very poor compared to the screenshots posted by Peter initially. I assume it is just the resolution used in the screen-capturing software?

Hi Rick could you please explain what "quite straight forward" means as I am not used to games that look like board games not being snarky just have never played them.

The images are stretched...the pictures that I posted are the correct sharpness, no worries Gerry.

I never played SL/ASL either, reminds me of Panzer Leader. It's been a long, long time, I've played a board game. I don't see the specific fire/target orders/options in the AAR, guess I need a game play video!
Anyone know of the Max/Min Map sizes?

Minimum is 1 map about the size of 1ASL map, maximum is 12 maps together
The scenario designer is currently working on game play and editor videos...
