Fantastic job!! I can't believe I haven't played in years. In my dotage, I'm thinking about giving up writing reviews and just playing. SPWAW is a great example why a game doesn't have to be new to be premier in its genre.

The icons seem smaller. What res are you guys playing at?

I'm p sure that I set the icon size to the smallest on the Preferences screen. You could fiddle with that.
I run the game full-screen on a 1680x1050 monitor.

What would be the largest size in preferences? I wasn't able to get it above 3.

Bismark

From the Field Manual supplied with SPWaW 2016:

• Unit Icon
This value determines the size of the icons that appear on the Battle Map.
Range is from: Large: XXX to Small: 3

When you get a chance, you should spend a few moments looking at the F.M.

Did that and went to 10 but no change. Is there an accept button somewhere?

OK, I hit ESC and got XXX. That's the largest, I suppose.

Try this .. Type a 0 or a 1 in there. See how that looks. I'm on a stupid iPad right now so I can't check for you.

It would be nice if it supported an i7 processor.

Yes it would.

I'm working on finding a solution for that right now.

Keep the Faith.

I just want to share my clicking experience with SPWAW 2016 and artillery click bug feature on core i7 with Windows 10.

I manage to control the artillery menu by clicking at two tor three different location in the same hex / box. Its just like double click, but I need to move the mouse a bit for the second click, and additional third click just to make sure. So its a triple click.

The trick seems to work without having to press shift or shift/L button.
I tested with fixed affinity core 7 or core 0 but its no different (with control-shift-esc - detail tab - set affinity).
Also I remove the /affinity 80 from mech.exe and it still work fine.

A little bit difficult on the small artillery command box, but that's the fun.
Triple shifted clicks on each hex/box is just like playing game. Well it is a game... :-D
Its a feature now :-)

Howdie, this game is an alltime classic. Sadly the only "game" (which is more a monster) I can play at all is WITPAE at the time.

But as soon more time will download for sure, I still have XP in one of PCs so should have no probs running it. I still have 8.4 and H2H installed and both seem to work :)

SPWAW also works in Win7 & Win10. Only significant problem is some processors (at least Core i7) give hard time for game's bombard screen (arty bug)

Would it be possible to play the Mega Campaigns with this?

Unfortunately no.
Y'know, I'd be up for tackling one of those bad-boys but AFAIK the editor(s) for that flavour is propriety and that's where Matrix makes their money. Though TBF I haven't asked yet.

What up Erik? I've already converted at least 20 Campaigns so far on my resume.

Yeah, I would pay for the megas if they were updated to SP:WaW 2016 and (and it's a big AND) they would work with Command & Control ON. Yes, I would pay for them even though the successor game is being worked on now.

So please, Matrix, let the Good Major Mess work on them!

Just stumbled on this! Had never expected to ever run this again. Downloaded and it ran fine under Win10 which I was amazed at. Obviously fairly dated graphics etc but had a great play all the same.

Well done and thanks.
