Hi nukkxx,
ESC is the universal key in the game to back out of something, eg. to say "No, I don't want to do this".
As it's got a similar use in many other applications we'll probably stick with it.
Our apologies for the keyboard traverse.
Cheers,
Cameron
No problem

I will probably soon get used to it.

But would it be possible in Addition to ESC being the General back Key , to have a second press of M to specifically deactivate move mode?

Well, on the same register I notice something not very handy nor user friendly.
The key "0" used for removing units from the map. It's a very useful function and I'm using it all the time. However, to display back the units I have to press "2" or "1" which are at the other hand of the keyboard (and num pad is not working for this). As a result I have to stop watching the screen and focus a couple of seconds on the keyboard to find where the damn "2" key is, which is an unnecessary distraction. It would be so easier to just press a second time on "0" to get the units back. My hand wouldn't have to move, my eyes would stay on the screen and it would be much much more comfortable and user friendly. Well, these little things are also an important par of the pleasure of a game. They are however not vital and I fully understand that the devs may have more urgent matters.
But if one day they find so free time, as a Christmas present for example ...

Interface is vital. Such a great game should indeed have great interface too. And to be blunt: The interface in this GREAT game sucks.

Articulate and insightful post.
Precisely what about the interface don't you like, and how would you go about improving it ?
