After the failed coup in Turkey the US refuses to extradite the man they think organised it due to insufficient evidence. Turkey decide to force the US President's hand by banning anti IS flights from Incerlik and blockading the airfield. Local NATO commander secures the airbase but the Turks place mobile AD units around it with orders to shoot down any aircraft coming or going. NATO have to break the blockade

Indo-Pakistani war in the near future. Threat of Pakistani nukes falling into the hands of the likes of ISIS causes India to react militarily. Draws in China, Russia, Iran and the US. Plenty of deep water and superpower bases nearby. Lots of nice hardware too. Muslim <> Communist <> the rest. Very messy.

How about a smaller scale scenario where terrorists manage to steal a small submarine and are attempting to set explosives to destroy the Channel Tunnel? Unfortunately the only units in the area are either helicopters deployed from a nearby airfield (could be French and English) or patrol boats attempting to scramble before the terrorists can achieve their goal. I imagine to make it difficult the amount of civilian traffic would be very high and the hostile submarine would be traveling slow and from a random location each time the scenario is run.

How about an asymmetric border skirmish between the US and Mexico?

Yes. A simple event that subtracts points whenever a unit on that side (In this case the side(s) would be Civilian) is destroyed. A ton of scenarios have something like this implemented. You can vary from x points for every unit lost, or do specific point loss by type of civilian casualty.

Do you use events to score the loss of other units with a F18 being X and carrier being 1000x for example?

Many years ago Tom Clancy wrote the book "SSN" about a conflict with China about the Spratley Islands. And now this almost a reality. Seems to me that the South China Sea should be an excellent focus for a new scenario.

You could make a number of scenarios from this with differing escalation levels as no one is sure where this will end up....

Trump is elected and critical liberals and hi-tech businesses leave for Canada. Trump calls for extradition of 'traitors' back to homeland to make an example but Canada refuses. Ordered to 'show some flag' USN decides to blockade Eastern Seaboard Harbors. Canada calls for help from a Br-exited UK.

The CMANO developers become crazy and hijack an Independence-class littoral combat ship. The only thing between them and world domination is the USS Missouri manned by members of the matrixgames forum.

Well I might be sadly mistaken but there appears t be a huge troop buildup on Crimea, and Ukr forces are on high alert.

Now the LIVE Brexit campaign has NATO vs RU scens in the Baltics, but it would be missing the LIVE mission statement as the crisis is currently a bit more south than that.

Yes this is definitely an up and coming issue again. Definitely should add it to the list.

I'd love to see a Guam strike centric scenario V China bases in the south. No carrier group but a task force including DDG 1000 and ABM / Tomahawk CG. China much as in Red Dragon

This might be interesting conflicts:
* Arctics militarization
May involve some aggressive "Green" activists attacking oil infrastructure
* Crimea/East Ukraine
Can involve Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and other NATO countries, which naval presence in Black Sea is limited by Montreux Convention
* North Korea looks unpredictable with new leader in charge
Could involve both Koreas, Chine, Russia, Japan and US
* Egypt can become a host for China invasion to Libia (because of many Chinese interests in Africa suffered after fall of Gaddafi). Can also involve NATO and Russia
* Iran and Saudi Arabia are good old rivals.

Pakistan vs India... kashmir region

Romania/Moldova vs Russia (and seperatist) clashing. An attempt by the Russians to organise a "Little Green men" style invasion escalates as Romanian nationalists intervene in Moldova.

GCC vs Iran. A rapidly escalating Gulf war with litte US presence at first. Iran moves to close the straits and incite various rebellions supported by Republican Guard and regular forces. Several variants could be played, with Israel intervening, Iraq supporting either side (depending on what you asume happens), Turkey intervening.. etc etc

China vs Taiwan, with different objectives ranging from bombardment, blockade through full invasion. Should include different levels of intervention by the US and / or multinational forces.
