The afternoon strike was slightly more successful but I dont think anything other than the DD blue is going to sink because of it.

According to this Mr. Kane took some pretty substantial air losses to his bomber wings. I estimate 20-30% of his carrier aircraft that struck pearl did not make it back to their carriers. And because the fighting was over Allied territory the number of pilot casualties should be higher than if not.

You sure about this? [:D]
Still, not bad. The cruisers will likely survive, he basically sunk a DD and shot down some planes, but he lost quite a few planes and probably some pilots.
He will probably not stay any longer, unless he plans to come for Pearl. But well, I don't think that's likely...

Thanks for the heads up. Been writing about the same opponent for years so that is likely to happen a time or two more :]
Yeah, if the cruisers dont take any more torps they are going to be fine.
I am not sure how likely it is he is going for Pearl. He is going to have to replenish pretty quickly here given the 2 days of attacks. Not sure where those BB's can replenish outside of Truk.

11 days into the war. Mr. Kane is efficiently sectioning off and blocking out the DEI and pacific. He just crossed the line with 101 allied ships sunk to my 6.
In what I would consider the first mistake of his game he somehow got the Isuzu next to some of my dive bombers. I consider it a mistake because I bounced about 9 bombs off the Nagato in the same spot a few days ago. I thought this task force would include a carrier or two which would dispatch my torpedo bombers expeditiously.
Instead an unprotected light cruiser was the victim of the next 9 bombs. I dont see him on radar anymore and the Isuzu had heavy damage and heavy fires so she might be a gonner.

Late April, 1942
Mr. Kane has a reasonably hard push with 4-6 divisions along the Australian coastline. I think he is trying to force me to send in reinforcements. We are not playing for AV which is a good thing since he has me nearly at 5-1 without taking Chungking.

Yep, and he is on a tear to take Sydney at this time... He just might be able to do it. Time will tell.

Looks like he is going for Auto-Vic by Strategic points. He may have plans for other parts of the map than Australia.

We agreed not to go for Auto Vic. And that led to a misunderstanding. I did not think Mr. Kane would go for the throat without it but he was doing so anyway.
It looked really grim for Australia and I wasnt prepared for this kind of campaign so I begged for mercy. Mr. Kane has agreed not to take out the majority of the Australian army along with Australia. In return I agreed not to 4E bomb below 10K.
India is untouched, China is falling rapidly with Chungking surrounded and losing about 1K troops per day. The japanese incursion into the pacific and northeast has been light.

Looks like he triggered the emergency Aussie reinforcements. Do you have the shipping to bring them in from Aden and Cape Town? Where will you send them?

Most everything is heading into India. We have no PP to move between borders and when he finishes off China he may just try to take a big bite out of me.
Within 3 weeks there will be at least 3 American ID on continent.
What I need to work on is my air force skills. They are my weakest, particularly bombing with fighters and 1&2eb. Got a lot of crews with 60+ lnav but need to know what else they need and how to deploy them properly.

So you've gotten the reinforcements but asked him to stop the Australian advance? I get your concession on the 4E altitude settings, but in my eyes that is minor compared to the advantage a Japanese player could gain form taking Sydney wiping it's industry and shipyards, and getting a chunk of Aussie troops.
You guys have solved it to keep the game going and make it fun, but as an Allied player you know what you're getting in future. Do you need the concessions about stopping his advance? The reinforcements are pretty good compensation, but also that the Japanese would be overextended, and you could eventually use that against him. Would have been cool to see.

Mr. Kane's objective was not to win, it was to play through 1946. If he chose to continue and destroy the majority of the Australian army and take all of Australia which he could have done easily then I would have surrendered and quit the game.
His concessions were to get to play scenario 2 with PDU on in a stock scenario with basic map and I thought he would not try to wipe me out. I was mistaken but we have rectified the situation.
