Uhhh...What's a "sticky"?

Its a permanent 'thread' that remains at the top of the first page of the forum.

Thank you Rusty..You understood I was as serious as a heart attack with my question.
Appreciate your serious and prompt response.[:)]

Here's my suggestions for the stickies:

Image

I more or less agree, but think we should try to avoid clogging up a subforum with a bunch of stickies too. Still, the subforums don't have their own subforums taking up page space at the top so can handle more stickies before it gets out of hand. This would probably be fine.

I think the Tracker sticky should stay on the main page, though - and Combat Reporter and IntelMonkey should be stickied on the main forum as well.

The two patch / start PBEM threads could be stickied in the Opponents wanted subforum.

Bill, if you have control over the ads that would be a boon as well. Some time in the recent past a "Buy AE!" ad line appeared smack dab in the sub-forum menu between the Tech sub and the AAR sub. I know Matrix can advertise on their own forum, but that line, on a smartphone, is really in the way of hitting the sub-forum hotpoints. I always have to stop, expand the screen, then go back to aiming at the sub-forum I want. I have sausage fingers. It's a REAL PITA on a phone. I know the forum software was invented before smart phones, but that's the way a significant portion of the readers come to it now.

If they want an ad, putting it at the very top or very bottom of the stack would be great.

I could have made a joke here, you know it, but I have restrained myself.

... why don't we dump them on the degenerates [:D] who use that other forum?
What do you have against Ellen and her family? I think she is quite humorous. And I'm not sure how to spell her last name either or I would correct you!

I only just now got your joke. [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

I also think it was very degenerous of you to come to her defense.

Thank you for not denigrating my joke!

After even half of a day, I have to go to the second page to see if there are any more new threads. Given that this then screws up all the other tabs I have open for the forum (when I click "mark as read", it switches to page 2 on all of them), it's kind of annoying.

The image posted above is a pretty comprehensive suggestion. How about it?

I would only keep the "Videos" section sticked: in my experience (with other games too) they are not only good tutorials/AARs, but also always good propaganda.

I've noticed the number of threads in bold when I get on is overflowing into the second page lately. That's a good thing isn't it?

This is precisely the problem that reducing the number of stickies would alleviate [:)].

Can somebody fix the thing where when you try and edit your own post you are overwriting instead of inserting? This seems to be a sporadic problem.
