For historical accuracy, my view is that adding fuel consumption for units is more important than to have a black counter on map.

100% agreed!
It's very unrealistic (but fun) to have 5 panzers, 2 heavies and dozens of motorized infantry racing all over the map in 1944.

Yes. Thus I have also thought at first. But if we are honest sometimes, with the oil it is like with the SS. At the end these are only names or chromium platings of a quite available thing. If you own in 1944 the same oil fields which produce now MPP for you, then your tanks and mechanised divisions will still racing around the map...[8D]

No actually. I don't own any wells in the Caucasus and am just approaching Iraq.

Ah. I get your point. Then you have lost your oil fields in Romania, Galicia and Hungary to the evil Allies. And your hydrogenation works are completely bombed away, right? Or where would your assumed oil shortage come under "real" conditions? Honest mate, a separately managed oil resource may be a "nice to have", but it would be only that. I do not believe that anyone has to miss such a feature painfully up to a SC4. [;)]
And tomorrow SC3 will be hopefully released. I'm already looking forward to the feedback from the community. As a beta tester I almost feel a little responsible. [:D]
