007 - Defensive positions at Outreau aka Stand Fast the Guards

GT3 MPh -- confused AI starts this northern tank, then stops it in the same place. Thank the Gods! the other tank is immobilized nearby

BT3 start after admin -- all troops are in command! Is there hope I can stop the flood?

BT3 FIRE! another tank taken out but there is a lot of German troopers out there. (very tough shot through all that brush. I have to say this ATG crew more than did it's job this day)

Trigger happy AI fires at anything that moves from anyplace it can, until a result is achieved. This is the first chief way, at the moment, to best the AI, because fire can be diverted, freeing up movement elsewhere.

BT3 MPh -- humm the Germans have routed forward to capture the objective. Gotta keep 'em DM, so use a corporal with a pistol to scare them! The 458 in command makes it to the hill to help out with the recovering defense there:

GT4 Prep fire -- the AI here is emphasizing this crew for the ATG, which is broken. I don't see this as a priority for these shots by the German right now, there are better targets than this:

GT4 MPh --- uh oh here it comes, in a daring move the last German tank finds a good spot to support the attack on the hill!

GT4 DFPh effective British Def fire but unlike ASL, these brits do cower:

BT4 -- KaBooooM that's that, final tank is destroyed.

BT4 end -- halfway through, will the Guards hold?

GT 5 and GT 6 -- all down the line, the Germans shoot, rather than scoot:

Start of BT 6. The Germans have advanced, but they are far away from some of these objectives given the time limit of 8 turns.

BT 6 prep -- I had a hard time recovering this MMG on the hill. Could really use some possession of it now, German stax are in the open:

BT 6 MPh -- reinforcing the central position.

BT 6 rout phase -- example here is the leader stuck after routing one hex, not permitted to run further as would be expected

BT 6 APh Decide to challenge the northern objective to keep pressure off the central hill

GT 7 -- -the enemy decides to fire all along the line, and does not move at all. Basically this will sow up the game for me!

GT 7 DFPh -- this northern squad on the objective holds firm and breaks up the German 9-2 stack at a critical juncture!

Start of BT 7 -- the British 9-2, having been broken again, rallies everyone back here in the nick of time, and will get back into position up on the hill (if not to find that bloody MMG!)

BT 7 prep -- fire goes to keep DM on the 9-2 stack as I am going to try and keep this objective now. I guess the decision not to withdraw was the right one, in spite of the ghastly CC attack on the tank in the middle of an artillery bomboardment[:-]
