Must admit that (as we know) PC´s are strange machines! [&:]
After manualy loading the Bootcamp 1 scenario everything seems to work fine, even loading from the frontend! Did try on other scenarios and from the frontend and all cool!
Anyhow, sorry for the false alarm Berto! Just in case it happens to someone else you will know what to do, so not in vaine I guess.
I look forward to many hours on CSME, my frustration comes from wanting this game for some time now and today was the day, so Imagen when it didn´t work for me!
Thanks Berto and keep up the good work!
Again, sorry for this PC hick-up!
Best regards,
Red

If you want to have a look at the log again Berto, I can upload it again if needed, or any other help you need from my end. Just tell me what you need...
Care,
Red

RGR.
Unfortunatley it happend again yesterday but this time with JTCS when I tried to open a Rising Sun mission. Again the solution was to open the mission from the inside file.
For some reason my PC dosent like the frontend of either game. Lol this sounds funny [:D]
Seriously, it´s a bit strange.
Otherwise great job Berto, just love how the 2D looks and even the 3D for that matter! Looking forward to new titles next year.
BTW two questions, can you port JTCS missions over to CSME? Is there a spreadsheet or alike with all the missions in CSME?

No, quite incompatible. Among other things, in CSME (and all future games), we have expanded the number of unit slots 10X. Many changes to the graphics code and data file layouts (with more of that still forthcoming). And so on.
A list of all 700+ scenarios (!) in the JTCS bundle? Not that I know of.

All the CSME missions that come stock with the game (not including those found in the included MODS folder) are found listed in the manual by date.
I believe they start at Section 9.0

Greeting everybody,
I've just bought CSME and I have the same issue as Red2112, my main screen is black when I load a scenario.
Everything else is functionnal. I have the toolbar and even the jump window (see screenshot).I can even select units with the toolbar buttons. When I click on the screen I hear mouving sounds.
I tried desinstalling and reinstalling the game. It changed nothing. When I reinstalled I noticed I have the problem with both 1.00 and 1.02 versions.
I tried launching directly me.exe as suggested above since it seemed to solve Red2112 problem but my main screen remains black.
I'm on Windows 10 Family Edition. My GC is a Nvidia GTX 760 and all drivers are ok.
I put in the attached zip my log files and a screenshot. I hope I did it correctly (I didn't post enough to allowed to put a link on my Google Drive). The files are from a run where I selected the first training scenario on version 1.00 (on 1.02 the problem is the same). It seems a lot of (graphic) files are missing according to the logs. How to get those files? I just installed the setup exe provide by Matrix and the installation ran correctly. At least I didn't get any error message.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Rod

Can you zip up your entire installation and post it to dropbox or something of the sort so it can be looked at?

Here it is.
The zip file contains the complete installation directory. It is version 1.00. I used the setup file downloaded from Matrix when I bought the game.
Edit : It was not precautious to post the link on the zip file here. I deleted the share. I will send the link by PM to those who will ask me.

Did anyone find an answer to the black screen problem? I haven't played for a couple of months. It used to work fine, but map is black, right side unit display box is blank, but I have menus. I tried launching from windows explorer and it still did not work. Thanks

It used to work fine in CSME (or JTCS?), then mysteriously broke at some point? What changed around that time? Did at break with a change in the game version? Or was there some other change? A Windows update maybe? What is your OS?

It is working now. I have CSME, in Windows 10 Home edition, and MSI GEFORCE GTX 1060 video card. I think it was related to new video drivers. I had updated my video drivers then rebooted a couple of times and kept getting the black screen. I completely shut down my PC and started it again today and everything worked including going into the game through the launch screen. A question though, I started the Bootcamp 1 scenario and then exited. I looked at the logs and it shows a lot of files that could not be found for example:
engine log:
graphics\leader31.bmp not found thru
graphics\campleader84.bmp not found
in OrderBattle::Read(), OOBs\platoon00.obx not found
in OrderBattle::Read(), OOBs\platoon07.obx not found
frontend log:
in GetPossibleFile(), graphics\ChineseLeaders.bmp not found thru
in GetPossibleFile(), graphics\SwissLeaders.bmp not found
in GetPossibleFile(), graphics\Medals0.bmp not found thru
in GetPossibleFile(), graphics\Medals84.bmp not found
These files are missing from the directories. Is the game looking for files that use to be there, but are no longer used? Should I reinstall? Thanks

Any missing file not marked ERROR is non-essential.
These, for instance:
in OrderBattle::Read(), OOBs\platoon00.obx not found
in OrderBattle::Read(), OOBs\platoon07.obx not found
There are slots for up to 100 nations. Nations 00 and 07 are not included in ME, so missing platoon##.obx files for those nations is of no consequence.
In general, you should be concerned about ERRORs only. The WARNINGs etc. you (but sometimes not necessarily we) can usually safely ignore.
Glad to hear things are working for you again. Computers are finicky beasts aren't they?

Well, I bought this game quite awhile ago and only just now actually tried to play the game. I have the same above problem with a black map. tried starting direct from explorer but no go. Has there been a solution to this problem? It's been quite awhile. I have Windows 10 and a Nvidia 1080 card with up to the date drivers.

Ok I got it to work by going to compatibility and selecting "run as administrator"
