I've had win7-64 for 7 years now and I'm sure I've fired UV up during that time without problem.

edit: just fired up the Coral Sea scenario and ran 4 turns. Works fine without any changes to settings. Be aware that your video card driver can affect things.

Hi bob I have a Ge force GT 635 nvidia with a mg of memory and up tp date driver, hope it would work.

Bo
When I got Sovereignty, I had to update my video driver to get it to work. I have heard of cases where older games wouldn't run with newer drivers but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I also have NVIDIA (GTX 750Ti).

Matrix has a price of $19.95 and $10.00 for the boxed version of Uncommon Valor, what products are in the boxed version?

Bo
Just to clarify, the box will cost you more $10, so the final price is $29.95.

Yes I understood that, my question was what do I get for the extra ten dollars. Why can't a game this old be sold for less?

Bo,

Look at the product description to see what you get. I think it's just a box with the CD, maybe a manual, but check it out.

bo,

I was a 'plankowner' with UV, WiTP and now WiTP:AE. The latter has held the test of time well, but not perfectly.

UV is simply dated. I would very strongly recommend you move on rather than trying to retrofit an outdated game design and engine for an operating system that it probably won't run on very well.

Of course, that's my opinion. You're welcome to spend your money in whatever fashion you wish, even if that's chasing performance in 17 year old games.

The biggest issue with UV (I played solo and a couple of PBEMs) is this IMO:

You cannot adjust the maximum range of your planes. This is particularly dangerous for your bombers, especially the very long range and fragile Betties aka the mighty ship killers.

They might end up attacking their target without escort and get slaughtered. There's no way you can stop this. And yet I had a lot of fun with this game.

Jumping to AE is the best option but to each his own.

UV runs fine on Win 7. I like the game. I bought it at release and loved it. It's far more manageable that WITP:AE.
