The big difference is that where your friend used "only" 3 Pzkorps, you use SIX ! Hence an impression of an incandescent knife
You also started a hair earlier .

Well, I explained that people haven't seen too much of a power shift due to Patch 1.03, but he is still pretty unhappy. I told him Russia will be the great equalizer.

FYI - my opponent (Mark) is out for a few days for a medical issue (yes, we are at that age), so no updates until next weekend, at best. Because, by mutual agreement, we cannot load the game unless we are both present, no inarticulate musings either. What I can say, however, is that (1) we were both surprised by the effect of low morale on the French troops (2) surprised by the overall impact of the Panzers (3) Mark said he saw the writing on the wall after the first major attack, and decided then and there to pull the BEF out of France before they were lost (he lost 1 Infantry Corps) (4) as per Mark, French airpower is a joke (5) again, as per Mark, there is no way to defend against a 6 Panzer attack on France and (6) lastly, and again as per Mark, a similar assault against Russia with more powerful Panzers and a few more of them is indefensible.

Well all of your 1) through 6) are perfectly right .
And neither of you should have been surprised by the power of the Panzers because they were as powerful in your previous game - it's just that your friend had much less of them .

That's why I wrote "Poor France" above
French army and air is a joke even against 3 Pz what is a more standard German setup so with 6 ....
Even saying walk in the park is an understatement !

Looking forward to the AAR but don't think it will last too long against those massed Panzers your opponent must be dreading Barbarosa

The OKW does some sound thinking but we didn't expect anything else from them
Indeed leaving Greece alone has only advantages and creates no handicaps .
The handful of additional MPPs is not Worth the huge loss of time and MPPs due to operating Luftwaffe and Panzerkorps all over Europe .
