@parmenio - Just to signal I have seen earlier there is may be an issue with your scenario viewer

How did you develop all these tools by the way? I mean the SCE format looks like quite obscur to me. Are you working more with XML and user will do the conversion directly in TOAW.

Hi - See my post above where I mentioned that the Scenario Viewer I wrote seemingly doesn't work with TOAW IV.
John Fogger emailed me about it. I've applied to the Beta program earlier this week to see if I can address the issue.

You are correct about the SCE format being obscure (although Martin Goliath deciphered large amounts of it for his Scenario Conversion tool). The viewer worked originally with the old text output from TOAW. Following on from that, Ralph provided me with a library that would open SCE files directly and from there they were converted to XML. I suspect the SCE format is different between III and IV but it should be possible to still work with the XML - even if the tool needs amending.

I won't know until either I get on the Beta program or worst case I have to wait until the game is released (obviously I'll be buying it day one [:)]).

Do you plan to merge the scenario viewer/editor and the equipment editor at some point? I know this is easier to say than to implement. But, this is not necessarily a one guy's task.

Funny you should ask that [;)]. Below is something I started work on a few years back. It was intended to be a replacement for the TOAW III Editor (and the Viewer and Equipment Editor are/were already integrated into it).

Unfortunately, this was about the time, Ralph went walk-about and I needed him to fix the library that I used to read in SCE files. It functions as an OOB Editor and not much else at the moment but it is usable as that.

Oh. I have this. Not looked at it for a long time. I need to look at that OOB editor side of it again. It might prove to be very useful for what I am doing.
