In the other theaters there are only few airfield bombings in China and successful defense by Claudes VS B17Ds over Babeldaob worthy of notice.
While our invasion fleets are approaching their destinations, I’m wondering where did Allied CVs go? I’m searching for them all over the map but nothing. Since they could pop up everywhere and cause havoc, I decided to form a flotilla of CLs and DDs around Hokkaido, transfer some AF squads from Manchuria onto Sakhalin and Kuriles and also prop up Betty squadron in HI. Hope this would be enough...
As of KB, it will linger around PH for a few days more, try to bring American fighters down and open a path for more 800kg bombs on surviving BBs. If we kill just one more, it would be worth it - just hope we won’t be ambushed by US CVs while doing so...

CENT.PAC. AREA

After succesfull dec.7. surprise and followup attack on fleeing Allied shipping, I decided to stick around Pearl just a little bit more. Enemy fighters are decimated and there is no undamaged surface vessel except few MTBs so there is really no risk except for CVs which are my only real concern in this moment.
Last turn I spotted several damaged Allied ships sailing south, most likely to be disbanded in port of Hilo where I spotted several vessels - so this turn KB will bomb Hilo, sweep PH and also stand in guard for any naval threats - position will be six hexes east of Hawaii, on rout towards East coast and also away from probable enemy CV approaches.

RESULTS:
It seams most of Allied ships did not end up in Hilo after all so bombing results are modest at best. On the other hand sweeping went well so I’ll go after Pearl again next turn. I hate to leave the job only half done...

EXTRA:
Several of PH subs are set on patrolling around Hawaii, on approaches to PH and also in base hexes other than Pearl. Results are satisfactory. On the other hand, most of the subs are sent on patrol in concentric rings around Hawaii, mostly on the western and north western approaches. PBs and subs from Gilberts will cover southern approaches. My biggest fear is that my opponent might send his CVs to raid area around HI or even to bomb HI against which I have little to counter at this moment. I’ve placed most of my short-legged DDs in Hokaido alongside few CLs but I doubt that will be enough if Allies appear in force. Almost all long-legged PBs are sent to patrol on northern approaches to HI to give me at least some warning. Several AAs and engineer units from Manchuria are also purchased to increase defenses in Sakhalin and Hokkaido to at least minimize damage if Allied CVs decide to put and effort here. We’ll see...

MALAYAN THEATER:

In order to prevent forts to go up in Singapore, I tried to night bomb the airfield but it failed miserably with not one single hit in two days of bombing with 40 bombers from 10.000 ft. I’m not trying this one again...
My opponent did a brave dash with RN CLs and DDs against my Miri and Kuching landing forces. My search DID pick that up the day before so I placed transports on follow orders two hexes behind CA Chokai and an DD believing it would be enough to keep them safe - BIG mistake. To make matters worse, my LBA from Saigon were night bombing Singapore so there was no air cover or search...
