Steve -
As I'm always tinkering with colors, I decided to exchange the color ID for part of the Soviet airforce and the Soviet forts; the Airforce went from color ID 91 to color ID 92 and vice versa. (allowing me to use real Soviet plane colors for some of the units).
So, I'm thinking, okay, the Leningrad and Sevastopol forts just got a little better combat support with NKVD units as they are both now the same color ID#. Only an actual Nazi would complain about that.
THEN today I saw your Youtube about watching out for Withdraw Army and Withdraw Unit. ...Fuuu...
So, did it screw up Events/the scenario because Events 545 through 600 withdraw or disband, but by name? Examples;
- Effect: Withdraw unit (Soviets Leningrad VVS, 1st LRBAC)
- Effect: Disband unit (Soviets 7th Air Army, 260th BAD).
Sidenote; Why did your team choose full-week turns when Barbarossa 41 is half-week turns? Just curious.

You'd have to check for Withdraw Army Events. If there are any, make sure that they do not correspond to units with the colors that you changed.
One Week Turns were used in order to reduce the number of turns. [B41 ended in 1941, TGW goes to 1945]

the rail repair troops barely moved into the interior
The Germans have three, one for each AG. Did AGN's Rail Repair Unit [3.Eisenbahn] appear to act any differently than the RR Units for AGC and AGS? I ask because I gave them different Orders to see the result.

the Luftwaffe didn't move their bases up
I don't think Elmer moves his Air units very often. I've changed some of their Formation Orders from Attack to Secure, Advance or Independent. I don't know if this will have any effect.

a lot of Romanian infantry didn't advance from Romanian
Most of them are set to Static, activating on Turn 2. At that point they switch to Defend orders. I will make these changes, and if you play thru again, maybe you can check to see if there is any difference in the actions of these Formations:
Corp II and Corp IV will switch from Static to Advance on Turn 2.
Corp III and Corp I will switch from Static to Attack on Turn 2.

I just started a game, I'm midway on turn 5 - I'll forward you the files so you can see how it's going (colors, undividable rifle divisions, map with small towns added as reference dots, my Soviet units pivot table). I have not checked on Gerry's air and rail. I was going to see if they need a push in a few turns. So far the Luftwaffe is still in the west but Romania is on the move.
Also - I'm not sure what you wanted the game options set as - so I use everything but High Supply and Trusted PBEM set On.

AGN's seems to have its act together approaching Riga, AGC seemed to worry too much about fixing all the nearby spurs as it wasn't that far in (approaching Baranovichy), and AGS was spinning it's wheels near the Hungarian border. I put AGS back on a main line.
It's still version 1.13. I saw you updated to 1.14 recently.

Steve, following up - turn 20 - AGN Eisenbahn is approaching Riga, AGC's Eisenbanh was near the border still - having moved of the main line I put them on, and, AGS's was dug in at an airfield 8 hexes east of Lwow.
I'm running v. 1.13

v1.14 changed some PO stuff for Luftwaffe Units and the Rumanian Corps mentioned above.
It looks like I can change the Rail Repair Units based on your reviews, that being that AGN's unit appears to be acting better than AGS and AGC units.

Question - what's the purpose of no HQ units for the Axis?

They don't need them.

Turn 28 v1.13 - confirming that AGN is working and AGC & AGS are not helping;
AGN - at Riga
AGC - in reorganization near Grodno for the last few turns - it keeps moving off the line to Minsk when I moved it there
AGS - dug-in east of Lwow again.
Does v1.14 have the improved Eisenbahn PO or that would be in the future?

Fixing Blown bridges Re: TGW 1941-1945

My next stupid question - how are the Soviets supposed to repair blown bridges?
I've attempted an HQ, a front HQ, and some divisions with engineering abilities stacked. All expend their movement points and no bridges. The Front HQs seem like the likely candidates - engineering, rail repair and major ferry abilities (and with that exciting 1 MP).
Is it a probabilities issue? I have 377 Ferry-Bridging Teams assigned. In one Front HQ I have 39 teams and attempt after attempt has yet to pan out. Testing an OKW Pioneer with 72 teams was an immediate fix.

Thanks for the stupid question, now I have to provide an intelligent answer
24 Engineer Teams gives you about 10% chance per turn of building/repairing a bridge. In some cases it may not be worth it to sit in a hex for ten turns hoping to get it repaired. The Soviet HQ's have Eng and Ferry Teams, and that helps in crossing efforts. Over time those HQ's get more assets and by 1943 they should be functional enough to get some consistent repairs completed. This is because early on the Soviets did not have enough equipment to effectively repair bridges for use in moving heavy equipment across water obstacles, and most of their qualified engineers were busy constructing field fortifications in front of Moscow, Leningrad and Stalingrad [and elsewhere].
The Axis starts with their Bridge Units ready to provide assistance to lift the heavy stuff across the water. In game terms, they have 72 Eng Squads in most of their Eng Units. This is the same as Soviet Units when they fill up, and 72 gets you about a 40% chance to repair each turn. Doesn't sound like much but in testing it worked well in simulating that either side couldn't always expect to get their priorities tended to.
So, like everything else, things should get better for the Soviets from 1943 on. And, it's not a 'stupid' question

odd note - it's January 1943 and KV IIs are announced as available - which was a 1940/41 produced tank (203 total ending October '41).
Was it supposed to be something else?
