Being such a weak player in general, most AI's are good enough for me. I do play TotH on Hard though and lose most times.

One thing that might be cool - or maybe just a silly idea - is to give scenario designer a "beserk" option. Imagine seeing all these Russians bearing down on you, anxious to melee. Not sure how hard it would be to program though.

Played "Pershing to the Front" at Very Hard level. It was not an easy walk, but I managed to wipe out all the American AFVs, then I managed to slow down the American infantry just enough to prevent them from taking any VP hexes.

The surviving Pz IV killed 4 of the 7 US tanks and single-handedly repelled the American attack from the north.
The other Pz IV was killed by the 80mm OBA (a freak hit, I suppose).
The Tiger engaged the Pershing in a prolonged duel lasting several turns and was finally killed by its American equivalent. I had to use a Panzerschreck to kill the Pershing, as it took four hits from the Tiger at short range, none of which did the slighstest damage.

The scenario is challenging, and a few failed dice rolls could have turned it into an American victory.

I opened the scenario in the Editor and I discovered the American AI has 7 AFVs against 3 for a human player, and the German AI has 1 extra Tiger. Both sides also have approximately 40-50% more infantry than a human player. I will try playing with the Americans, but it does not look good.

I noticed that AI infantry appears to be more prone to fire in the Advanced Fire segment: is this one of the improvements implemented in Update 4?

In this scenario the engagement ranges are quite short due to the wooded terrain, so the lack of long range AI fire is not important; playing with the Americans, however, the limited normal range (4 hexes) of the Fallschirmjager squads means that US Infantry can stay 5 or 6 hexes away and fill them with lead with no return fire.

Easily said than done but I'm thinking about something like that

I`m a bit like you Rosseau , the AI is a bit of a battle for me as well.
Russians beserking ?
The only thing that frightens me more is Peter is thinking about it .
As a player who generally plays the German side , I do enjoy my range advantage .
Now you are suggesting a mass Russian charge ?
Ohhh , no , high command would not approve of this .
How will I explain my failure to halt the advance.
No, No, No.
There will be no more dinner parties for me at the eagles nest :(

Played "Pershing on the Front" taking the Americans, getting a Major Victory with no excessive effort. The Pershing made its debut killing both Pz IVs in a single turn, then remained OOC for most of the game (the crew was celebrating their feat, I suppose). I lost the M4/76 as it foolishly crossed a perfect fire lane for a Tiger (who subsequently advanced and showed its rear to two Bazooka-armed squads [:D]).

Please note the huge difference in infantry losses:
- the American AI, (unaffected by the long range issue) killed 8 squads while the German player only killed 4.5 squads [AI kills / player kills = ~2:1]
- the German AI (affected by the long range issue, cleverly exploited by the ruthless American player [:D], who kept killer stacks standing in the oper at 5-hex range, firing 22 FP per Fire segment on the opponents) killed 4 squads, while the German player killed 10.5 squads [AI kills / player kills = ~1:2.5].
