Larry do not forget to capture as much rail line as possible for the first 4 turns
and do not forget the objectives as per the rules
The shock values are determined by historical advance:
Turn 6 these 3 cities must be in Axis control:
Riga (184,266), Vilnius (194,309). Lvov (174,397)
Turn 12 these 3 cities must be in Axis control:
Pskov (228,253), Mogilev (248,325), Zhitomir (229,392)
Turn 18 these 3 cities must be in Axis control:
Tallinn (194,221)
Smolensk (267,308)
Kherson (278,457)
Turn 24 these 3 cities must be in Axis control:
Luga (243,236)
Roslav (277,323)
Kiev (252,388)
Archiving this will give the following effects the following turns (turns 7,13,19 and 25)
Germany will get a 150% Air and Land shock when each of these checks are successfully made.
However, it will also activate a supply shock with a 1-2 turn delay were the German supply
is reduced to 1. (only for the last 2 events) Turn 6 and turn 12 achievements gives the
Soviet a Shock penalty of 90%. The turn 24 Shock bonus will in TOAW4 have a movement bias
of 50% for the Germans, as the Panzers run out of fuel, and need rest and refit. The penalty
last for 1 turn and will appear with 1-2 turns delay, like the supply.
Holy Moly, I had no idea. Maybe I should read the rules for this scenario. Or at least the
scenario briefing. Thanks a lot for this info. As it happsns I was planning on getting
those bases at any rate and having a time constraint makes it exciting. I was going to go
re-read your Development board AAR about
FITE2 just to see what you did again. I'm
rapidly developing a love for this scenario. At first I thought it might be too big but I'm
finding my way around now and compared to the original
FITE this one feels like you
have a lot more units to stand in a front line. May just be an optical delusion on my part.
Brian and I are on turn three already and it's kind of slow right now because of the holidays.
Happy new year everybody.

Larry this a rule that Willie and I added.
The German player may send up to 6 Infantry Divisions plus supporting arms (engineers & armoured units) plus any number of air units once the Russian player crosses the line of hexes from Vyborg to Kakisalmi. These units are in addition to any German units that start the game in Finland
This is because Lenningrad is the secret. If the German player can take it, it releases all the Finns and starts a true second front. If the Germans is unable to take it then the Russian player attacks Finland first and when she has fallen this releases a tidal wave of Russian units. Soren has changed it so that all the German forces in Norway are released if the Russian player attacks Finland too soon but I am unsure at what stage.
It will be interesting to see if you are able to take all the objectives by the requied turn. My feeling is that it should be 2 out of 3 but I am not the boss.

Thanks for sharing your secret with me. I shall work on Leningrad especially.

Hey you guys, Brian and I wanted to do a FITE2 game but the PBEM++ system
screwed up our moves so we're restarting and Brian is going to be the Axis
player and I'm going to be the Russians. Or the Soviets for you purists.
Brian is working on his first turn moves as we speak ( 1/12/2018 18:24 local ).
So stay tuned for Brians's moves when I get them.

Hey you guys, Brian and I wanted to do a FITE2 game but the PBEM++ system

The unvarnished truth is that Brian couldm't get the system to save his
moves partway through the doing of his moves. He would get partway through
his moves and want to pause for some reason and pick it up sometime later
and he couldn't get the system to work when he saved his game partway through
his moves. So we thought maybe it's not such a good idea and gave up. But
since then Brian reports that he has gotten it to work and he wants to try
a FITE2 game again. So we're going to do a restart and try it again, I'm
waiting on his moves as we speak. Brian gave me the ETA of tomorrow morning
and it's 02:01 local right now. So we should have some moves in a couple of
hours from now.
I'm the Soviets and usually there's not a whole lot of moving for the Soviet
player to do in the early turns because of all the units in garrison mode or
in reserve. So I'm anticipating my moves to go quickly. I could be wrong.

I've zipped up Brian's moves and attached them here below because I'd like to share with you
guys the one turn you can watch the combat replay without having to supply a password.
Here's the turn as I received it.

I consider Brian's turn one moves to be the best I've seen him do yet and I marvel
at what I've just seen. This should be a tutorial on how to move your units in T1
of
FITE2. Needless to say I really like what he's been able to do and how
far his units have gone. The turn ended rather abruptly however so I'm guessing
he failed a force proficiency check or something technical like that.

I found a great reason to ground the Soviet air fleet for a while. I'm going to move
those that aren't in reorg and can move, to the Moscow area to give them a period of
rest and to avoid the worst of the air shock difference. My planes wouldn't be much
of an Axis hinderence right now anyway.
EDIT: Yeah, I said Berlin instead of Moscow. But I've changed it to Moscow now so
it reads right again.

I went to see how many formations there were and discovered all the formations were set to attack mode. D'oh.
There's too much to change for me to be tempted to use Elmer to move the units.

All the aircraft are in poor shape except for a few that are still green.
But I can't use the ones that are in the green by themselves, best all at
once at some future date. Right now I'm going through all the aircraft
units setting them to a single-dot setting and those that can move I'm
moving to the Berlin area.

If you move all those Soviet aircraft to the Berlin area, you probably won't like the results.[;)]

The Red Air Force needs to move as far East as possible to be able to recover, especially during the first few turns of negative air shock. Then and only then can it return to the fight. It can achieve parity in the Finnish area of operations and if you plan a local counter attack concentrate you air forces for the duration of your attack and then run east again. Your air force need to be husbanded very carefully during the first few turns so it has a chance to fight back later in the day

The idea I had was to move the aircraft to safety, to get them out of combat for a while in
a safe place so they can rest and recover some of their moxie.
