if I am still alive when we start on TOAW 5 I would like to get back on the beta team.
[:D] Exactly my same thoughts. Some of us are getting dangerously close to the end of our subscription period.

Thank you for posting the image. Looks similar to AAR's on WitE. In fact, looks a lot like a lot of the Eastfront boardwargames I've played over the decades - War in the East, War in Europe, Trial of Strength, Proud Monster/Death and Destruction, etc. By 1942 the Soviet lines are so deep and strong the Germans can't ever do anything. This is the result of Stalin not being in charge and ordering offensives in winter and spring of 42 which no sane player would do. Likewise, it doesn't take much for the German player to better Hitler's decisions, leading to the war looking nothing like it was. Unfortunately it just becomes a WW1 style battle of attrition.

The Russians are not strong everywhere in 1942 and like the Germans they need to nurse their strength and weaknesses. The Germans drove fairly deep into southern Russian in 1942 in our game and if only my opponent knew what I knew then he may have taken a bigger risk and truly went for it in the South he may very well have got to those oilfields as I did not have a lot in the South to stop him as he had smashed my front lines which I thought were failry strong to pieces and I eventually lost Kharkov the crimea and Rostov and the west bank of the Don River right up to Stalingrad, if he pushed a little further into the Caucuses then he may have found little in the way of much resistance. Again it is a what if and could have been type of scenario and now into spring of 1943 will the mighty eagle sharpen his claws once more for a Citadel offence somewhere or will the huge bear now breakthrough those German front lines?

Qucik update from my side.
As ze Germanz I'm planning to hit hard for Moscow (the Primary objective) and to envelop as many Red Army units in South as possible while taking Kiev.
Push in North to be rather limited.
The drawn orders for Red Army is "Fight for your ground" (which translates for no withdrawals).

How realistic of an objective is it? Is the game considered a German victory if you take it?

U mean taking Moscov? It's not a Victory per se. You need to hold it and I think there are quite few turns.
