Steve,

Are the graphics shown in your screenshots included with this scenario or is it something else you added?

A very nice looking scenario. Fine graphics representation of the old classic.

Cheers

This is a really fun scenario, it's basic (no ranged artillery, and the air is pretty simple) but its still a very fun scenario.

This is my start of turn 4:

Thanks for creating this scenario.

I agree that it is a shipload of fun, and is pretty close to having a computer run a boardgame for us. Hint: You might want to turn OFF the Floating Objectives, because they really aren't necessary to be seen and kind of distract the eye from the beautiful map [;)]

Yes, I normally have them off, but turned them on for this screenshot.

Thanks for this scenario. It was the first one I've downloaded after buying the game ~2 weeks ago and I'm playing it for the 3rd or 4th time. Avalon Hill come to life.

Nice work. Very close to the original Jedko game. Unfortunately I have lost my board game of this ground-breaking game. I do still have the Jedko game of The African Campaign. Purchased back in '75. Maybe worth a OAoW4 conversion as well? :)

The African Campaign
I don't think I had that one, I'll look into it, thanks.

Another one I thought was well done and tons of fun was Tobruk. But it is very tactical with Lines Of Sight and Ranged Direct Fire. This can be kluged but doesn't feel right when playing, so rather than Frankenstein it I choose to leave it alone [:)]

Many thanks for this scenario.

I have a (maybe silly) question.

I downloaded all your files and followed the instructions step by step. All seems ok, except for the hex grid. I have the new default (white corners), not the black hex lines in the screenshots of this thread.

How can I get that look ?

Regards

I see I missed that one. Because it is in my main/default location because I always use it!

Here it is, unzip it to your Scenario Folder [or if you want to use it all the time, unzip into your main/default Graphics folder].

This is an extremely well-done and funny scenario. I think the scale helps the Soviet AI, that gives an extremely good challenge (at least to me [:D])

Highly recommended.

I have one question, though.

Why is it recommended in the documentation to start the scenario in hotseat and then change Soviets to AI ? What is wrong in starting with a Soviet AI ad initio ?

There's some events that the AI needs to fire on turn one and the PO needs to do those. So starting the game with the PO in charge of the Soviets is really needed for the game to play correctly.

Yes, but the scenario notes says that the scenario should be started in hotseat and THEN changed to Soviet AI...[&:]

Oh. Well, do it that way then. I have no idea about the scenario, never played it, etc. and I'm just saying what was said to me.

That was to prevent Initiative Swings, which would allow each side to have consecutive turns, which did not work well. Currently, at this time, I feel like that has been corrected by the addition of Variable Initiative to the Game Options. Please turn this OFF.

Starting in Hotseat prevented consecutive turns,so I will remove that instruction from the scenario for the next time it is posted.
