Really enjoy the way you have documented this scenario. Congratulations. Excellent AAR in both content and presentation.
What I do wonder about is the scenario design and the “victory” conditions. The German 7th Army is going to be trapped and crushed. So what are the objectives: move as many German troops out of the pocket as possible, or crush the 7th as quickly as possible.
Difficult for me to accept that “minimizing” defeat as a winning condition.
Your thoughts on winning using an overwhelming force over a defiant, but smaller force.

This one is over. I will rest most of my units over the two night turns and then head East with the Canadians in the morning.

Having thought about this today at work, I'm going to end this scenario here. There just no reason to pursue it longer.
This was not very difficult and the Germans made it easier.
I’m not sure why they took out all the bridges – it hinder them much more than me. They did not try to block the edges and pull out through the middle. It felt like they were withdrawing everyone at once. Finally, they did not really attempt to break through my defence line in the Trun area – even though they arrived in strength and in time to make a dent. I would likely have beaten it back after some time, but it would have made life more difficult.
It was nice to see a plan come together – liked that part.
Here is a look at the victory points totals and my thoughts on an AAR

I'm going to return to the Operation Overlord scenario, but this time as the German player.

That should be a bit more challenging and interesting, Mike. I look forward to it. Thanks again for taking the time to post your detailed reports.

Nicholas,
I'm glad you liked my AAR. I'm starting the planning for my defence and it looks daunting. This should be fun.
