Is it me or does the map look like WITP, the original version that is....GP

He is posting screenshots of classical WITP. He is not playing AE so all his comments on AE are irrelevant.

An Air HQ ads its command radius to the number of administrated air units that the base can support (training and resting squadrons count as 1/3 rd a unit).

However if the base and the Air HQ have different commands the Air HQ's Command Radius is halved for the above use.

I'm a bit fuzzy on this one. IOW my knowledge is not complete. I thought that as long as the HQ was in the 'chain of command' the effect was the same. IOW the base could be say 'Southern Command' (for Japan), and as long as the HQ was listed under the 'Southern Command' path it would operate with all benefits at 100%. True or no?

Ditto

I am not sure. My knowledge isn't unfailable either. [:D]

It is probably true, within "the same chain of command", but I will check when I play next time.

As Japan, I may change one of the bases in Kuriles. To do this, you need at least one LCU there with a different command (you cannot spent the PPs to change if that command is not present in LCU already there). I ship in small AA LCU to said base. Then, spend the few PPs to change its command (usually to the one that allows the restricted air groups in Japan to rebase here). Now, you can change the base to desired HQ but spending the PPs.

Yeah, that's exactly like something I was thinking about as its difficult to get units to the area due to base assignments. Its one of the few area in the game where I'd advocate 'circumventing' the pay the full PP's as to me the region is a part of the home islands and I see no reason to make it difficult to defend. Don't get me wrong. OTOH I would not be pleased if my opponent used this to amass a huge invasion force in the local.

Notice I stated defend. I find large offensive ops to or from this region WRT the Aleutians to be one of the games' weak points. The region has very hostile weather patterns and is detrimental to continuous ops on a war footing. Throw in difficult terrain and I would be unwilling to play an opponent who took advantage of this a second time. Be they Allied or Japan in the game.

You'd be surprised how many languages Alfred speaks. Or, maybe not.

I am well aware of the intended insult directed at me.

It is typical of his kind to use another language in the expectation that the meaning will not be fully understood. You should look at some of his posts in other Matrix forums. In the French language forum he made a general derogatory remark in Spanish. That of course was unacceptable on two counts, firstly that the post was not in French in a dedicated French forum and secondly the contents of the post. Indicative of his attitude is a post of his in the Spanish language forum where he quickly pronounces a serious bug in a game exists only to subsequently admit in a separate post he had FOW on.

He is rather careless in checking his typing before posting and tends towards using slang. Google translators don't always quite capture slang correctly.
