i use Dosbox for TOTP and PITS, - was Panzers East a dos game. I dont have any other emulators except WinUAE and C64. I wouldnt mind though playing some old Atari ST/Apple 2e games if there are emulators for these- SSI's Battlecruiser i woud like to play and it was never released on Dos
Likewise for Battlecruiser on my Atari 800.

some have "panthers" on them; some have "tigers" on them.
One disk is titled "dragons in the mist"...an add on for Tigers or Panthers.
Dragons in the Mist is a TOP2 series game in it's own right (It covers the PTO). DIM is not an addon or scenario disk.

U guys using emulators for this stuff? I loved to play the game Panzers East
I believe Panzers East was a Trash 80 (aka TRS-80) game by Avalon Hill?

Im curious how "free" a distribution of TOTP/PITS is?
The reason I say this is I bought a physical copies of both about ten years ago, along with the scenario editor.
AND I edited the executable of each to skip the keyword lookup in the manual at start.
I think I still have them but dont want to run afoul of HPS for giving away something they havent sold in 15 years.

Is there a way to contact HPS about it? I'm really interested in a copy of both the scenario disks and Dragons in the Mist (the PTO version of the game).

Edit: Heck! From what I heard, HPS itself could be interested in a copy, given that they lost many of the originals [:D]

Ive fired off a query to HPS to see if they care if I put the files up on Dropbox.
Im assuming they will care, but who knows.

WoW. I didn’t expect that pits and totp was still used by so many of us.

I think that these old games are much better than Poa 2.5 and TU. I find Poa and TU too slow in the run phase.

I hope that the disks can be shared.

Fingers crossed

Good News! Rich told me Scott has given his approval to freely distribute TOTP/PITS provided its understood there will be no support.

Here's what I have, sadly I dont have any of the expansions.

I guess the same is true for Dragons in the Mist, if someone has it available.

Great news anyway! Thanks!

Most of the scenarios are made by myself. So don't expect high quality scenario's.

Gents -

Just came across this thread.

I have the original discs for TOP2; Panthers in the Shadows; Dragons in the Mist and Broken Alliance. I also have the Map Builder utility.

While reasonably computer literate, I do not have Drop Box (but could do the free trial). I have just recovered TOP2 and Panthers from Carbonite - just under 7 Megs each. Will have to look on an old back up drive for BA and Dragons; I think that both are stand alone. I am presuming that Rich and Scott have no objections to the Expansion Discs.

Perhaps one of the Smart Guys (tm) could guide me through this.

Am not on the computer during the week, but will return next weekend.

I have both POA2 and Tigers Unleashed; but still enjoyed the DOS games about four years ago.

Mac

Hello Mac,

Very good to hear that you want to share the files. [&o]

I think that the easiest method is dropbox. You get a few 100mb for free.

You need to upload the files to the public folder of your dropbox account. After that you can generate the link and copy it in the message here on the forum.

I only use dropbox in the web browser. I never used the dropbox app you get with your Windows 10 installment.

Best regards,

Hapshott.

Hello,

I just had contact with someone who has dragons in the mist and broken alliance. I assumed that only the campaign disks are allowed for distribution. Is it also allowed to distribute the Dragon in the mist and broken alliance game executables?

Sorry about the delay in responding; I have been off the computer due to work.

Hapshott - I will follow your instructions; if help is needed I will contact you.

OK - trial Dropbox account created. Here is the share link:

TotP; BA; PitS; TotP maps. Will have to look elsewhere for Dragons in the Mist; do not remember if standalone or addon. Also have to find the editor. Of course I have the DOS discs; but no way to read them...

Let me know if this works.
