I don’t know if I want the Steam version. My son uses my Steam account which means we can’t play Steam games at the same time. If you redeem the Steam key do we lose the non-Steam version? 🧐

No, I both versions of several matrix games installed.

Like budd's comment, you can install & keep both versions (steam & matrix) without any issue.
If you're unavailable, then how about asking devs to upload Goslar map as a part of basic database or as a workshop item, and put your name as map designer?

I took different images including satellite imagery, sloped elevation imagery, and the terrain.bmp, and played around in GIMP with layers and opacity until I found what I liked.

Great map. Thanks. I always thought that the ability of the Soviets to cross the Weser near Hameln was key to their further advance. Simulating the battle before the river then an attempt at a crossing would be fun. As i lived in Minden, the defence of the Minden Gap was always going to be a challenge to the local infantry battalion.

I agree with the importance of this sector to the overall success of a Soviet assault against NATO. I’ve toyed with the idea of a Hameln map, and have all the data for it. I’m kind of waiting to see what Veitikka and the guys are up to. If the main effort has shifted to a new engine and program then I am more hesitant to commit the time needed for a map for a game that might be out by the time I’m done. If, on the other hand it will be a little while before that happens then I’d probably dive in to it. I’ve tinkered with maps of areas outside Germany, but what I’ve realized is I’m an old Cold War warrior at heart, and this era and area is really where I won’t to play.
Maybe we can get an update soon? Things have been awfully quiet around here...

We're working on new DLC content, and the next update coinciding with the DLC release will have a linear campaign system and minor improvements. The system has already been implemented and we've been designing sequel features. The COVID-19 situation has slowed down work of some team members (not me).

Any chance the player controlling both sides makes it into the game in some fashion before AB 2.0?

I don't think so. We've taken steps to integrate Lua into our game, but it will take time before this aspect is mature enough so it can be used to script the AI behavior. On the other hand, most players would probably want a graphical UI where it's possible to place and move waypoints, triggers etc. This is quite a different thing and needs first the more advanced waypoint editing options that we have been planning.

Well then I guess I need to spend more time learning LUA in CMO. Excited to see the direction you’re going!
