I should have been clearer on the "Upgrade All" option. There is an upgrade tool, but it applies all upgrades. Most of the time, one does not want to apply a mobility upgrade (that upgrade is prohibitively expensive in the early game). If a country starts with or researches the mobility upgrade, the tool comes with a cost. This is also true in a limited sense for some naval upgrades. The option I am looking for would allow applying certain upgrades (rather than all available upgrades) globally to a class of unit.

I think if you had such a capability, that you would end up spending time each turn that you plan to use that capability to go thru the whole map checking units to make sure you want to really do it before you actually click the button and are forced to live with the results. I don't see where it is worth all that.

[Personally, I think the heart of the issue is having three Research Categories for most units. Too many possible upgrades when it seems that one for each type of unit would suffice. Just my opinion].

To make this series a little more serious, yet not Gary Grigsby complicated, the independent support units like AT, AA, arty should go. They should be integrated into tech or better still, function as attachments to the corps or armies, something similar to Unity of Command support units. Introducing stacking would completely change the system, but I think the air units should be able to occupy one hex with the ground units ( like in Panzer Corps ). The HQ's should be also attachable to the combat units.

Given that the engine is based on a 'no-stacking-rule', the thing I miss the most is the possibility to put the combat units in a sort of 'Tactical Reserve' mode (like TOAW), to react in support of adjacent ones

I like this idea - similar to how they are handled in Darkest Hour where you can build and attach things like TD, AA, etc.

Make the spying more interesting. Currently, its just spotting by random chance by random units. Give different types of information, could do lots with that! Previousl location, build ups, tech runors, diplo rumors. Allow for fake information too. If you have spy+3 tech you can feed false bs.

This is a rather big ask, but maybe it would be an idea to revisit the research costs. First, one would think that moving from a level 2-3 would cost more than from a 0-1. Generally speaking, the more advanced a technology, the more expensive it is.

Another thought is reconsidering the relative expenses of various types of research. As things stand, only a relative few of the numerous options seem to come into play. However, if anti-tank research was only 50 MPP for instance, it might be used more as a relatively inexpensive way to counter armor. So too with some of the others, like Heavy bombers, etc.

If it hasn't been mentioned before, One more level of zoom in would be very nice for us older folks who need a it of help.

Thank you for a wonderful game! Even if I can't seem to catch a break.

- Operate Range is limited per turn OR Cost varies with Distance covered, plus tracks can be single / double (1 or 2 units operate per turn per that track at best?)
- Add 'divisions'. Rename Armies / Corps to Large / Medium / Small infantry concentration - or other names. An army does not pack the punching power or defensive power of 2-4 corps atm.
- Beef up Germany '39 position which is very weak.
- Changes to AT / ART.
- Improving the unit experience gain (or lessening the loss of it when replacements are taken)

Newbie here, who just started playing this game when it came out. I'm now decent with land/air operations but have much to learn about the Naval portion of the game. What I'm doing is, for example when playing Single Player with the allies, is designate the AI to play the US/Brits, but I do the US/Brits ground/air, then turn it over to the AI to finish the Naval part of that turn, watch and learn. Of course the AI then also moves/strikes with some of the US/UK ground units, often contradicting my ground plans. So my suggestion to prevent this partial player/partial AI conflict is:

Add a command for every unit.....call it maybe Rest or Defend
Rest/Defend could be used at any time during a units turn. It could be used before a unit moves/strikes (all action/strike points available) or in mid turn after a full/partial move and or strike(s) when the unit still has any combination of action points/strikes remaining. In other words when Rest/Defend is used it expends all a units remaining action points and strikes for that turn so that, in my example above, the AI doesn't conflict with what I'm trying to do in a joint player/AI game where each partially control that countries units.

THANKS and GREAT GAME

It's great that we get email notification that it's our turn in PBEM++
But how about exposing the Military Summary and then formatting it in a newspaper style within the email?

At the moment I have to wait until work is out the way before finding out whether [x] has fallen

Argh

Love it
