My wish is for the game to simply see more beta patches. About the only half way realistic thing that could occur.

I wish the combat report detailed what devices where in play a bit.

I think every player should be issued their very own P-47 Thunderbolt.

Except if you’re Australian then you get to choose: a Wirraway or a Boomerang...

Nah, a Spit VIII or Beaufighter 21.
PS. I get to touch a Spit VIII today!

How about the subs being able to target more ships? Depending upon the targets, have each set of tubes be able to target a ship. High valued targets would get more sets of tubes targeted on them.

Have the secondary and tertiary batteries fire on the smaller ships - that is what they were for. The big guns would target the capital ships. Too many times I see the big guns firing at DDs or smaller when the larger capital ships are not fired upon by my capital ships.

Why have Kates try to torpedo DDs and have the Vals target the BBs?

How about an up to date manual with all of the changes included? I know that some forum members tried to do things like that or make wikis with that information.

Nice one. There’s a beaufighter inside Canberra airport near the checkin desks.
Wife’s grandpa flew with 152sqn and earnt a DFC in Burma.
I didn’t know it until doing some google research a few months back, but he and his wingman shared the first Spit VIII victory in Burma 26 Dec 43 when they shot down a Dinah. Apparently within a few months Dinahs became a rare sight

If the game ever got revamped my biggest desire would be to see land warfare finally get its due and stop being the red headed bastard step child of the game.\

Imagine being ablke to click on an LCU device and see its important game stats the way you can for an airplane or a ship.

Well, it was -2 F here at 2:06 am. Now it is -5 f below at 7:43 am. I will not give the Celsius scale as it would seem even colder.

Of course, I always like to check this site weather check place to see if we are warmer or colder than that place.

As far as a change, how about when a ship sinks, the next flight doesn't target the ocean where it sank? It is irritating to have 4 bombers wasting their load each time, especially when there are many other ships to destroy.

They might also want to extend the winter zone further into March since that has some of the worst winter weather.

I was reading about the Ha-60 engine. Apparently Kawasaki licensed the DB-601a from Germany. That engine was in a plane called the Bf-109 (aka Me-109) so it really should not have to be researched much. Then Kawasaki licensed it to Hitachi for naval use, as in the Judy. In 1944, the engines were using the same designation so in reality, shouldn't/couldn't changes be made so it was just one engine, whoever made it The same engine, no matter who made it, could then be used any any plane that required it. Just a little easier for the Japanese player.

You ever tried to copy German precision manufacturing in a struggling japanese engine factory?

Probably easier to build a new factory.

But you have to research both engines. It would save the Japanese on research. Although, Hitachi did lower quality builds, the game is not to be a historical replay otherwise there would be a lot less cooperation between the IJA and the IJN.

Yes, even the Germans had problems with the engine. But why have two engines that were essentially identical that could have been used interchangeably except that one was used by a Navy plane? The HA-35 was used by the Navy and the Army and there weren't two separate engine sources nor nomenclatures.

There were about 30 different "Double Wasp" engines. Easy enough to say they were the same. Easy enough to say that the B-29, the P-47, the Corsair and the Hellcat all used the same engine. That would be incorrect.

As everyone already knows, upgrades mean more flak. This game needs, and will always need, more flak.

Especially Allied flak - the Japanese have enough . . .

One thing I was surprised to not see, given how insanely one can micromanage the aircraft output (and many other things), was a ship design module, built into the game itself (I am well aware that the editor can allow you to modify ship designs). With all of the tradeoffs that the real designers had to wrestle with. Imagine building 3 full-fledged Shinano fleet carriers, 100 planes each.

Don't we already get enough flak from you?[:D]

How about, at the beginning of the game, forgoing the Yamato class vessels and having a choice to have more CAs, modern CLs, and modern DDs arriving. This would be a package deal, so many of such ships worth somewhat what those big beasts cost.

Ship design starting 12/7/41 by the IJ for anything over 10,000 tons would never have been completed by 6/1/46. You could make a strong argument for anything over 6000 tons wouldn't have, but 10,000 tons for sure.

Yamato class designs started in early 30's … 10 years from concept to actual launch was about the best they could do for a variety of reasons.

Aircraft are much shorter design cycles. Aircraft engines, as demonstrated by IJ, though are NOT short design cycles.
