Things are not looking good for China. Infantry Weapons 2 arrives, but it may be too late.

3. January 1941

It is perhaps time to take a look at the status of the Allies as we enter 1941.

India has not yet mobilized any forces. Research is focused on contributing MP to the Allied cause and creating a defensive land army.

China's struggle is simply to stay alive. By now their infantry units are ready, but air defense still needs work. They do not have any offensive capabilities.

The Soviets are still neutral. I'm trying something new - spy research - to hopefully get some breakthroughs. So far it seems to only have slowed down our infantry research. There is precious little room here for any experimentation.

The Soviets have not mobilized any new units. Here is the far east, with worrying Japanese deployments.

Unlike what I usually do, the US has focused on naval and air-power. Infantry and tanks tech will have to wait. Existing units have been brought to full strength.

The UK has a lot of ground to cover, and the research is spread thin. Priority has been given to industry (it's going to be a long war, and more lend lease for Russia), and level 2 air range. This will give us more options for using our airpower, for example seizing Bergen to annoy/disrupt Germany.

Defensive posture in the Middle East. While we could have used our fleet and gone on the offensive here, I elected to wait until German air power is engaged against the Soviets. Currently German planes are sitting around not doing much.

The British Isles. The 1st army was just formed and will either be deployed to the Middle East or on some other mission. Currently we are unsure about German intentions and will not make any major moves until Germany declares war on Russia.

I should also mention that submarines have not been a big issue so far. Even though we are still waiting on anti-sub tech.

And to finish off, the very definition of a minor theater. Who knows, if Finland joins the Axis, maybe we can do something up here?

China counter-attacks the Central Expedition Army. It's costly, but many irreplaceable Japanese veterans perish.

23. May 1941

China loses an army near Chungking. The Japanese do not seem ready to halt their offensive.

The Soviets develop Infantry Weapons 2, just in time it seems.

South African forces take Massawa, and the Italian African colonies are no more.

The UK orders another medium bomber.

Yugoslavia surrenders.
