But Zukov's offensive in the Ukraine has paid two dividends. First, he killed two units last turn and put some real hurt on the airborne. Second, the Germans redeployed several units to this front from the northern sectors. I think I need to fall back and rebuild the armor. Waiting for better infantry. And, I figure it does not make sense to rebuild the Russian fighter units until I at least get fighter level one. The siege of Sevastopol continues.
Allied strategic bombing has been pretty dismal. My level 2 fighters flying escort keep getting blown up by German fighters which makes me worry they're at level 3!

It's December 1942 and things continue to be tight. There have been a series of naval battles that are giving the allies naval supremacy in the Atlantic/Med and challenging the Japanese. Here, the US fleet is going back to Pearl to refit and rebuild after catching the Japanese fleet near Truk. The final tally was two Japanese aircraft carriers, 1 escort carrier, 2 BBs and a light cruiser. The US last 2 BBs and its carriers are damaged and the airwings shredded. But, assuming I get away this turn, its a clear Allied victory.
The British/Dutch ran up the straits of Molucca and sank an IJN light crusier and damaged a destroyer for the loss of the dutch sub (note to self, if it says you're going to take 4 casualties don't attack).

In the North Atlantic the Germans sortied their surface fleet including their carrier and now it looks as if they only have a sub left (they have others in other locations). I think that I've sunk most of it but there may be more lurking in the Baltic.

In the meantime, things are looking up in the Med. There is total allied domination of the sea so the there may be no more reinforcements for North Africa. The Italians lost a fighter and an infantry unit this turn (and a tank unit in Russia) and I may be able to slog my way through the German armor. The artillery unit helps as does British fighters at level 3 so ground support may be more effective. Also, anything on the coast is subject to shore bombardment.

In Russia Sevastopol fell and the Germans went across the Kerch straits and took the oilfields at Maikop. I finally, finally, killed the Italian armored unit down here and have eliminated a couple of German infantry unit (and a brand new tank unit!).

The Leningrad front continues to hold firm but things are very dicey near Moscow. There needs to be a long winter but the weather here has not cooperated at all. Lot's of clear weather and, a couple of times, the last step of a German tank unit has defied destruction. As you can see, the Germans are pressing. I may need to go for a second front in 1943 as I have lots of troops stacked up in England who are not doing anything.

Why is this AAR in the Tech support forum? Just wondering [:)]

The file size to post pictures in the Tech support is 5 mb. The file size to post pictures in the AAR section is 200 kb. I'm too lazy and computer illiterate to figure out other picture programs so I just transferred the AAR over to here.

It's the summer of 1943 and the Germans have made it to level four tanks while I've been at level 2. I was flummoxed by their rapid advance until it dawned on me that you can research something faster by putting more resources into it (keep clicking on the research button you wish to focus on). Who knew! [X(] Yeah, I could have read the manual by why start now?

In any event, it's only level three tanks on the Sinai but both sides are still stuck. I bombard Skynet's tanks each turn with my navy that keeps their morale down around zero but does not cause any losses. Just a stalemate (but I did sink the Italian aircraft carrier).
The strategic bombing campaign is in full swing. I'm not causing too many MMP losses but there is attrition on both the German and allied air units. Here I'm at level 3 fighters and he is not but I still seem to take more losses than Skynet does.

The German level 4 tank advantage has really shown up in the Ukraine. My glorious counter offensive fizzled and I lost two tank units. The Germans are also pressing towards Baku and have taken Stalingrad. Things look dicey down here.

Near Moscow however, things appear to be a bit better. I've actually managed to kill two Stuka units by getting behind his lines and they look a bit thin. The Germans tried to encircle Moscow from the south and lost both an armor and an infantry unit surrounded. Near Leningrad the line has held and he is bleeding more than I am.

In China the Japanese (using their large airforce) have started to push me back. They took one major city but, fortunatly, they have not killed too many Chinese units. I take more losses, but I think this is a steady drain on Japanese resources. Mao came in the war, but he won't let his troops get too far away. There are reports of communist partisans, but no explosions so I'm not sure if it helps or not.

As part of the strategy of keeping pressure on the Japanese, the British far eastern squadron has gone ship hunting. They sank a DD and damaged two others (including that pesky Italian one you see in port). Oddly, although I'm sitting on several convoy routes, there were no reports of Japanese MMP losses.
The US navy, meanwhile, is tanned, rested and ready near Pearl. I have six CVs and two Escort CVs and my subs are just now getting upgraded to Level 2. My first invasion of Tarawa failed but I'll be back soon and then start a proper island hopping campaign.

You need to turn on the raider function on the surface fleet to hit the convoys.
Nice AAR

Thanks!
I will turn that function on and hoist the Jolly Roger!
Actually, I'm likely to run away as this incursion may prompt a response from the IJN but thanks for the tip.

It's August 43 and the it continues to be a dog fight in Russia. At Leningrad the Germans made a surprise breakthrough that does not concern me too much but they have also been using their artillery to good effect near the Valdai Hills.

Near Moscow I was able to kill an Italian army and a german panzer unit and also put a hit on the level bomber unit. I'm not sure how many units the Germans have but that is a large hole in the center of thier line. The Level 4 tank unit at the south of the picture, however, chews through an army each turn.

In the south the Soviets killed another German armor unit and the Germans rebuilt. I have units trying to keep him away from Baku! Stalemate continues in N. Africa where I have too many forces tied up. Not much to report from China.

I have so many forces sitting around in England that I almost feel obligated to give a run at an invasion. At the very least, it may take pressure off of the Eastern front.
In the Pacific the US fleet is caught in an upgrade/reinforcement cycle that is delaying things.

Sorry for the delay, but work keeps getting in the way.
In any event, the allies did splash ashore here in France, but it was not all that impressive. It took several attacks to clear out an air unit and just get one american corps on shore. It did kill the fighter that was there and put a level of damage on the other one, but lots of allied planes were lost. I'm not sure if I can hold the bridge head without a port, but, hopefully this will take some of the pressure of the Russia.
