Is there any way to easily figure out who sank the Soviet subs?
Not really. You can filter your message window as search that way, then correlate it to which platforms you had in the area at the time but that is not exact.
If you cannot find it in the message window (it gets truncated after a while) you can go into your logs folder and search the text log.
There is not simple way that I have found to do this however.

In some games, this is easy to determine and it can be fun seeing who did all the damage!
This would be a nice feature in CMANO but not critical. When building the Northern Fury series I try and guess how many Aces are made and how things would work out for the next scenario. A kill sheet would be useful.

You'll find that in ASW battles, you're ships are often relegated to being life support systems for helos and sensors. If they are in range to get a good shot at a sub, things have gone wrong and they are way too close.
Plugging gaps is always a struggle, forces you to make choices which is what I really like about the game.

Mike-in a perfect world, your ships should not be the platforms that engages a sub. In modern naval combat (post-1970 or so), if a ship can kill a sub, the sub can kill the ship. And in that scenario, the odds favor the sub. If a ship has a towed array sonar, it should use that to detect the submarine at long range, and then help vector airborne ASW assets. If it doesn't have a towed array, it can still be useful if it has an embarked helo. If neither of those situations exist, an escort vessel is of marginal utility in an ASW battle, other than absorbing torpedoes, escorting a HVU (high value unit), or provide some firepower against a sub-launched missile threats, or keeping SSC (surface surveillance aircraft, such as the Bear D) from getting targeting info on HVUs.
On another topic, when you play "Goblins on the Doorstep" remember the following (in order of priority) :
1) Stealth is your friend
2) Stealth is your friend
3) Stealth is your friend
and finally, in that scenario:
4) Stealth is your friend[:)]

No problem. One other thought: ASW stands for "Awfully Slow Warfare." Some of the of AARs of "Goblin on the Doorstep" go sideways because the player tries to make things happen too quickly, ie, they get bored. Kind of like your five year old on the family vacation who keeps asking from the back of the car "are we there yet?" Don't be that kid. Develop a plan to sanitize a corridor to get the SSBN to where it needs to go and stick to the plan.....

It has been a couple of years (and version updates and new features) since I last played Goblins. Formerly, you had to uManage the Revenge to prevent cavitation but now there is a checkbox on the throttle dialog that can be set to avoid cavitation. Probably should be useful. [8D]
This is a marathon and not a sprint, but should prove fun and suspenseful.
