The problem with the color of the water is particularly visible on the map "Sea of Azov" :

In the "Sea of Azov" scenario(26 Sept 1943), is it normal to still be able to buy Regular Infantry'41 when Regular Infantry'42 is available?

Why the Support Unit "Rifle Company" does not appear ?

Rifle Company: attack/defence value +5 in cities, Tank = 2, Available at Level = 4, Formation = all, Nations = all

Hi Ronald,

Still no luck with towed artillery and mechanized units on campaign maps. A unit can move if deployed on turn 1 but the units on maps still cannot move.

The standalone scenarios work, however.

There is no new version with the fix out, yet. You will get it this week though.

Hi terminator,

the Bunker counters have a unified designation and the right colours within each block. Also the Polish Schneider has a line break on the counter.
In the image there is also an area with sea hexes. But there is no difference in the colours of the sea ground on the beach and the ones with water only.

...and here is a screenshot from Kalinin which also lacks the colour difference you see on your machine.

The problem is, that i can only fix it, if it occurs on my machine. I don't know if a hardware difference could cause this.

Hi terminator,

having the '41 available all time is normal.

The missing rifle companies as support units for tank corps is a bug. Thanks for reporting.

Hi folks,

there now is a new Beta version on our server "GaW 1.09 Beta Ausf.A" which contains all fixes mentioned above and discussed here Soviet Dawn Beta Test.

The link is in the first post of this thread.

Please make sure to use the latest version and new savegames if you report errors to avoid confusion.

Known issues:

- The rifle companies are on our list but not fixed yet

- The sea coloring is not occurring here, so we need more data to address it . If it happens on your system, please let us know.

Thanks to all who helped to improve this version so far !

Hi Ronald,

The alcoholic drivers have been disciplined and are ready for the campaign. By the way, 213th Artillery Regiment in Lwow scenario always had this bug, from the very early versions. (It even earned a nickname ''Alcoholic Regiment''.) In the battle of Lwow this regiment (with sober drivers) provided fire support in its sector and helped AGS to hold the line west of Lwow, even against tank divisions.

There is a question about Belgrade scenario. Two artillery units (Artillery Regiments 268 and 511) have no ammo and no fuel and need to be resupplied. The third unit (Artillery Regiment 643) only has ammo for 1 turn and cannot move although it has maximum fuel.
In Operation Barbarossa it is possible to move this unit closer to the enemy on turn 1 and fire while other artillery units reload. Then this unit reloads on turn 2.

What is the idea in Belgrade scenario? If all three regiments must resupply on turn 1 then this unit also needs to have 0 fuel. Maybe I can just do this in the editor?

Hi AngrySwan,

the idea is from Operation Barbaross which we released in 2009 and is about learning to resupply as a principle and how it functions.

It shows how different situations handle. It might not be interesting for a veteran player, but might provide insight to a newcomer.

Hi Ronald,

I like this resupply scenario. It is useful even for veterans to come back to small scenarios and play them, they are just as enjoyable as the big ones.

So in the Art of War scenario all three artillery regiments will be out of ammo and fuel and there will be another ''needs to resupply'' notice for the third artillery regiment. The need to resupply all three artillery regiments also mdemands more creative tactics because the player's his choices are limited for the first turn. «In der Beschrankung zeigt sich erst der Meister» (An expert is sonmeone who can work within limits.)

You mean the bug with the units that could not move on turn 1 is gone and all works as expected in the new Beta ?

The bug is gone in Ausf.A.

Even before Ausf. A some scenarios did not have this bug.

Improvement

Uranus scenario, I wanted to improve Cavalry Brigade -> Cavalry Corps'42 (Division)
I indicated cost +60 but when I improved finally it costs 187 (?)
Maybe it is a formation (Brigade/Division) bug ?

Hi terminator,

the game does not add in the brigade-division jump it seems (+5 strength), only the upgrade costs from a 41 cavalry division to a Cavalry Corps.

This is, because normally you would have selected this in a different step. This special case was not covered by the price preview as of yet. We will look into it. Thanks for reporting.

I always play in English. I wanted to change transport for my artillery unit in HQ.
Description of available transport is in German instead of English :

Sometimes I have positive +1 combat predictions for both the player and the enemy?
