OK, with 99% reports now, I think I can proceed w/ round 2 pairings.

For games still in progress, I have proposed that (for the nonce) they be scored as draws only for the purpose of making the Round 2 pairings. Actual scores will be posted later.

Any objections? If not, I will post Round 2 pairings w/in 24 hours from now. PPS: late entries into round 2 will close before Halloween, so join soon :)

In the meantime, consider opinion w/re/to using a different scene for rounds 3 & 4? I like Tobruk, and I think we need to give it at least one more round, but was also thinking that the desert can become tiresome. So, for Rounds 3 and 4, think upon considering one of these scenes instead of Tobruk, just for rounds 3 & 4, maybe suggest others to consider?

Here is what has been proposed so far:

Some suggestions would be:
Sinai 1967 (14 turns)
Leipzig 1813 (15 turns)
Meuse-Argone 18 (14 turns)
Guadalcanal 1942 (24 turns)
Smolensk 41 (23 turns)
France 1944 Cobra (20 turns)

FWIW, I have had my eye on that Leipzig 1813 scene. Thoughts?

Round 2 is still Tobruk ...

Ideally, you will be playing the
color / side opposite of what you had in R1

only against a different opponent than in R1 ....

I am ironing out the pairings right now ...

It may seem that your opponent is watching playback or using possession flags to detect units.
This is not so. The "Peaks" on the map serve as "lookout" points.
Some can be climbed; others not (Peaks + Dunes cannot be climbed).

They can provide valuable battlefield information.

Peaks/dunes CAN be climbed by foot units. And, if you only have motorized units, there is the "Dismount" option.

Maybe my guys are just not doing, but ...

I dismounted some guys and they would just not climb that mountain.

Does their dune climbing ability degrade over time? iow, is there a factor involved as to whether a dismounted unit can climb that hill?

PS: Enjoying the CfNA scene very much!
