I decided to send the command team to a (more)
central position for a better view. At this point it was
still safe to cross the street. However once they tried to establish themselves in a defensive position, they came under VERY HEAVY direct fire from the 2nd story building across the canal. I had to withdraw!

As I was moving my troops into position, with some under direct-fire, the American paratroops tried another advance on the bridge!
