I remember those times as we transferred from the Guadalcanal game over to War In the Pacific and remember the battles between those two.

Ron was a stalwart player, and contributor, of the original WIP game.
I remember him well.
Ron and Mogami were always at loggerheads over some miniscule detail.[:D]

Party hardy Ron!

Very sorry to hear this. I always thought his signature pic was the best (except maybe LST's).

Rest In Peace,
CB

Wow!
I read the link, and saw it was two years ago, but I'm shocked and saddened nonetheless.

So sorry to read this, Ron was a good guy, and I'll miss him.

Wasn't it DivePac whose name was Dirk?

Yes, like PaxMondo noted: that was Des.

Sorry to hear about Ron. He seemed to have been a real personality. [:(]

Ron was one of the best guys I played in PBEM. Fun and did not things seriously. We agreed to a rematch but then he moved to Greece to open a bar. And then we got his avatar. [&o]

As others have said - fair winds.

Very sorry to hear about Ron.

51 was the same age my younger brother was taken at.

Far, far too young.

I didn't know Ron, but 51 is rough, especially these days.

I have a friend John who just passed a couple weeks ago at 70, he was at work and had a heart attack, died two days later.
I mention this as it has been very hard on my close friend Charles, who talked with John every day and had lunch together regularly. They have known each other over 20 years.

Most of you know this intuitively, but please don't have regrets about a close buddy because you never took the time to REALLY tell them how much they mean to you, and now they are gone forever.
For some of us this takes a bit of courage, but it will make you feel better, no matter how awkward it seems.

I really enjoyed Ron - way too young.

51 is only 18 years away when I think about it.

Lost my mother in law at 62 as well. Tell your fiends and family everything, because you really don't know how long you have with them.

RIP big guy!
