Single player combat for me it's Wings Over Flanders Fields.

Is this a mod of Combat Flight Simulator 3 only? Or, is it a full game?

They share the same engine but it was overhauled. In the end it's a total different experience, as a game and as a combat simulator.

Flying games are very addictive

No combat in it but have you guys see Microsoft Flight Sim 2020? Looks insanely good and all the stuff with accurate ground visuals is very impressive. I’ve always wanted to try the thing of going online and flying around an airport while talking to a human ATC and doing it just like real life. Would be quite the experience with visuals like that and realistic flight model.

I played it and WOFF a lot and thought ROF was superior in flight characteristics and airplane graphics. It didn't look like much on the ground, though, and was developed as an on-line multiplayer game.

The sequel of sorts to that is called Flying Circus, it’s a module for the newer version of IL-2 Sturmovik. If you have an account with ROF purchases on it you can even get a discount, or at least I did when I bought it.

By the way, IL-2 Sturmovik is really good, though mostly focused on the Eastern Front. They’re gradually working through West front stuff now. I wonder if they will ever hit the same amount of content as Sturmovik 1946, the older sim where you could play an entire career as a pilot in literally every imaginable theater of the war.

Sure, I played both, but that was the issue RoF had nice flight and damage models but lack the rest for me...

Exactly this. For all of RoF's fidelity, it's dry and doesn't keep my interest.
You can lose yourself in WOFF.

If you're still looking for the best flight sim, DCS World could be worth of checking out.

Looks like it would be too much for me. What? I'm a working adult. I have no time to study military jets and everything that go with them.

The new MS Flight Simulator was just announced today to be coming out August 18th as well. Looks epic.
