My wife and I are going on our anniversary the first week of June at Hocking Hills in the wood in a cabin for a week. We have been going to our local church ever since this started (she is a worship singer, guitarist and drummer at church), our pastor has kept our church open and running since. Attendance dropped but picked up on Easter. My wife also is an essential worker and has been at work every day with no face mask. We are good to go, healthy and know of no one that has had this virus nor even died from it. Maybe it’s our faith or our diet, but this “pandemic”, shutdown a land lockdown seem excessive and controlling to us.

To me it’s interesting and frightening to see how powerful fear is. As it was once said, “we have nothing to fear but fear itself.”

The wife and I will stay quarantined as we both think it's not over yet. I worry the second wave will close the hospitals again! My cancer surgery is in June and I can't afford to get sick. If the hospitals close it will kill me for sure...

You might want to research antabuse and cancer. It may surprise you.

If they get my kidney out fast enough to prevent it metastasizing, I should be good to go. Renal cell carcinoma is not to be trifled with, it does not respond to traditional chemotherapy or radiation. I had a CT scan and the rest of me appeared clear, so I said get that kidney out asap. My father died of it in 1973 and I would like to beat it, if I can.

Best wishes on a timely and complete resection of your renal cancer, Grognerd. My FIL had one of his taken out a couple years ago for the same reasons and he has (knock on wood) remained stable afterwards.

Yesterday, freezing and snow in the air, today sunny and I COULD go out in a bikini if I really wanted to.

Canadian weather, not for the most part 'normal'.

I predict in June it suddenly goes hot and humid just to be annoying.

I read or heard somewhere that the only month that Duluth, Minnesota did not record snow was August. [X(]

Here in Finland hasn't been any major lockdown that I know of. I've gone to work like normal along with all the coworkers. My father stayed put for a time, for he hasn't fully recovered from the cancer treatment (possibly never will). Right now on Discord, locals of the nearest town (40+ km from my home) locals tell people there act like normal without masks or social distance. I've been little careful myself, visiting local grocery store early in the morning on my way to work instead in the evening returning from work. Otherwise only significant change in my life has been cancellation of a RPG game convention and anime club meetings [:(]

Japan, I have never been to Japan. This is the only country I am interested in now. Not sure I will go soon now. I was planning to go in April 2011 but the Fukushima accident had convinced me to delay my trip.
