Still not much going on but the axis didnt forget Malta the airforce came back and an German corps invaded. My 6 AA shot down 13 air factors during the 2nd turn of November. I also gave the garrison elite status and spent a few supply trucks so some resources spent to try and defend it. Think Malta will fall eventually but if I am lucky with the weather might hold out for a while.

End of 1940

1940 comes to an end. Malta still holds but I removed the AA. Garrison down to a combat value of 1. Could have saved the unit but I decided to let it fight it out to the end.

In the east I try to set up some kind of soviet defence in preparation for spring/summer. I will write a little more about my ideas for the east later.

I evacuate Malta. I felt sorry for my digital soldiers so I withdrew them. As I wrote in the Malta thread I dont like these evacuations in enemy controlled waters but the game is as it is. So I got the unit and the AA out and managed to inflict some losses so happy with that. There are some Germans in the Med still including a corps in Africa so the British must still be on their guard.

Otherwise not much going on Axis build up in the east and no action on the high seas at the moment.

April 41

First turn of April was cold weather but the German beast did not attack. I am kind of ready I think [:)].

Basically what I have done is trying to build some corps for manpower. I have built a couple of mech and a couple of arm. I disbanded 2 bombers and bought interceptors instead. I like to build my ground attack planes later.

I have not ugraded the 20% corps. Bought inf coprs mostly 40 tech some 41. Only mech and arm units have been upgraded to 41 tech. I have saved a fair bit of resources to build additional armies on the turn of invasion.

We shall see how it goes will be exciting.

April 41

In the Med not much going on.

May 41

Got a bit lucky with bad weather in the east so the invasion of the Sovietunion was launched on the 2nd turn of May whih means there will likely be 7 turns of good weather after this turn. Good start for the Axis I lost 20 inf corps. Still it is not an all in Barbarossa so I feel there is a good chance to survive in decent shape but we will see [:)].

UK starts to hit back. The UK move west in Egypt. Declare war on Iraq and take Portugal under UK wings not an invasion you understand just for their protection from the Italians in Morocco [:)].

July 41

The Germans continue their advance. Leningrad is main target and will most likely fall.

M.M. do you have any remaining Russian large corps? If so, do you mind checking to see if they are still showing as having 2 guns (if 1939 tech). I ask because in one of my pbems they had 2 guns before Barbarossa, but all reverted to only 1 gun after Barbarossa.

Thank you. I think this is probably only affecting me as no one else has posted a problem; but it would be good to know for sure.

I checked. A large 1941 corps have 1 gun and 1942 have 2 guns. I dont remember how it is supposed to be but feels like there might be a problem. As I recall corps were getting buffed but it doesnt look like it has happened. Forgot to take screenshot will do that later.

In Russia the fighting goes on. I did retreat quite a bit now since there shouldnt be no more than 2 turns of clear weather left.

Moscow willhold to 1942 at least Leningrad not sure might hold.

In Africa the British launch Torch. Outcome leaves a lot to be desired.

Assuming your large corps have the "assault" advancement they gain a gun with 42 tech. So it does look like they only had 1 gun prior to this; so that means there is a bug.

Most certain assault but i Will post a screenshot next timme i make a turn.

What happened between Jul 4 situation in Russia and Aug 29th?
The German line doesn't look like it moved hardly at all for 4 prime combat turns.

I did retreat one hex row every turn to try to keep the German infantry from getting too close.

Most German effort was towards Leningrad and breaking through in the Velikye luki area. There it was a bit critical for a while but I built 12 armies on first turn of the invasion and they arrived just in time to stabilize the situation.

I dont know what the correct numbers should be [:)] but if I remember right this looks wrong.

Yes, the 41 corps should have 2 guns and the 43 corps 3 guns. But since your game was started in June it could be that the game had not been updated to make the change by then. My understanding (which could be wrong) is that the game scripts are not changed by any updates made after the game starts. So I suggest you play a hot seat game against yourself. Just have Germany DOW Russia on T2 (Sept 15, 1939) and see if your Russian large corps Defend CV and number of guns changes.
