hey t-dogg
Did you work out the skill development thing from April?
The pics look good. The selected hex is the same regime and zone in the top and bottom picture. The middle one shows you taking out the SHQ of the Odelan Republic, you thug! After that battle, they should disappear, and the remaining zone hexes flip to you. Usually as a new zone centered on the captured city, but not always. Is that what happened?

Yeah, I didn’t see the skill issue pop up again. Now with xp, They’ll spend it on in-group traits
.
The issue above was that the entire AI, either overbuilt andself-destructed.
The attack of the Republic faced zero troops moving to their capital and taking it. It was a level four city at one point.

So the AI didn't defend itself. Yes, that is kind of strange. I've saw a very lightly defended capitol recently too.
Were they at war with anyone else?

No, they were not at war.
You can’t go from a city that’s over 100,000 population to less than 7000 population without some sort of major starvation bug.
I’m trying to replicate the game again.
If you read the original note that I posted, you know, it’s a combination of the ports, not giving food, slow, tech development, and overbuilding and overproducing units that causes mass starvation.
At least that’s what I think it is.

Any save game of an AI in trouble without good reason can be send to
vic@vrdesigns.net. Please include some description of exact behaviour observed and which AI it concerns.
I'll be happy to take a look.
best wishes,
Vic
