Rangoon
There seems to be a sort of stalemate on the border near Rangoon. I'm thinking about maybe outflanking the Japanese somehow. Maybe a sea-borne invasion on the west coast of Malaya. I'm contemplating bringing my naval assets to this area more as a threat than anything else.

T17, Bataan
After much trouble Bataan finally falls. Corregidor still stands but it's only got some CD guns and a few out-of-supply troops for a defense. They won't last long. I expect Karl will move a lot of his LCU's from the PI to better spots.

T18, Legaspi
I'm still in possession of Legaspi but Karl will capture it before too long. Corregidor is still able to be a pain in the neck for Karl if he plans on using Manila as a source of a lot of sea traffic. On the other hand he may just leave it as is and not bother with it at all ever. It's getting a supply level of '7' so it's not exactly out of supply. Same for Legaspi. And I still own Singapore but probably not for long.

T18, Rangoon
Here's what's going on around Rangoon right now. The Japs have leapt over the river but so far I have blocked them. I'm going to have to send more troops yet to really contain it for sure. I'm not sure what Karl's plans are for this area but there's not been a lot of action from this AO for quite a while now.

T18,Singapore
Karl is using some of his ships to help take Singapore down. I moved a lot of the aircraft near Singapore to Sumatra airfields for safety, so Karl won't be tempted to bombard them with his ships. All of my aircraft are green except for one PBY. Last turn I got the CV Illustrious at Colombo, Ceylon ( without any aircraft ) so I flew some aircraft to the carrier and then tried to move it directly west toward the edge of the map and an airstrike by Karl's Betty's based in Malaya sank my brand new carrier. Doh. Yeah, I know that the mini-map doesn't show the Singapore area but I'm too lazy to fix it.

Overview
This is what the theater looks like right now. The Chinese are holding back the Japanese troops from taking over the interior of China. I'm wondering where Karl will go when he starts invading some other place. Maybe Java, or Mandano.

T24, Singapore
Singapore finally fell. Now there's only a single defender left to destroy there. I have no idea where Karl will invade next. Maybe Sumatra or Java.

T24, Rangoon
Here's what is happening in the Rangoon area right now. The Japs are making progress in their attacks to leap the river but I've railed in a lot of defenders so I'm thinking I can hold them off for a while longer.

T27, Rangoon
Karl is getting his troops across the river despite my best effort to prevent him. I feel like Rangoon is in jepardy. He has been pounding my aircraft with airfield strikes but so far his losses are higher than mine. No naval units are involved yet but that could change in some future turn. I dare not risk using my ships in that AO because of the anti-ship aircraft Karl has deployed near there. I'm going to sacrifice Rangoon if I have to rather than spend a lot of equipment defending it.

T27, Singapore
I'm holding on to one of the Singapore hexes but just barely. I expect my defender to fold any turn now. He's bombarding with his ship and there's two stacks of 9 units attacking me from two separate hexes and you can see what shape my defender is in by looking at the unit display. I've got AS and CS missions within range but they aren't helping a great deal just now.

T27, Celebes
Karl has started clearing out the Celebes islands and has landed on Mondano and all I have to defend there are partisans and Phil. Army units with a proficiency in the 20's. He will own all those islands shortly.

T28, Singapore
Singapore fell finally and Karl has started making landings on Sumatra. I'm going to have to displace all my aircraft to somewhere else.

T32, Rangoon
Karl floated some more troops into the Rangoon area and forced my defenders to retreat from one more hex there. I'm thinking I'd best redeploy all my guys along the river.

T32, Wake Island
I captured Midway after a couple of turns of bombardment with all the ships I have and an assault on the Jap defenders by a division of Marines. Now I'm looking at Wake and it's a fortress from what I can tell. Karl has a division of crack troops and two engineer units and a brigade of SNLF troops with two bomber units and a fighter unit there. It's not going to be a pushover. And if that weren't bad enough he's also got a SCTF stationed there that contains at least one carrier. I lost one CV at Midway so now I'm down to just 5: Lexington, Yorktown, Enterprise, Hermes, and Formidable. I'll need them all in one group to approach Wake.

T33, Rangoon
Karl has captured another hex of Rangoon so I thought I ought to rearrange my troopers to better defend the path northward.

T36, Wake
I thought I'd drive all my ships up to Kwajalene and bombard it to see if there was any chance at all of invading and taking it by storm. Karl flew a bunch of planes to the nearby islands and attacked me with them and I lost a CV ( Yorktown ) and got some damage on another CV and a BB and a DD was sunk. I guess I tried too soon and I need to retreat and try it again when I have more of a CAP to protect my ships better. I'm going to take a look at the expected reinforcements to see when I can expect some more ships.

Naval Reinforcements in the future
I counted 17 CV types coming in future turns so there's a chance that I can try to invade again around T60 or so.

The Fleet As It Is Now
Only 4 carriers left in the fleet. I guess I'd best hunker down and wait for more ships.

T39, Rangoon
Using their ships for support the Japs have been slowly pushing the Allied forces northward and I've flown in some anti-ship aircraft and I've been picking off a ship here and a ship there and several have been sunk over the last five turns or so. So I'm optimistic that I can delay the Japs for a long time in this AO. That doesn't rule out the possibility of Karl invading directly at Calcutta and I wouldn't be surprised if he does that. Karl has cleared out the island of Sumatra and now Java is vulnerable. Also, Ceylon is open to invasion. I'm thinking of moving the Commonwealth ships back to the SW India area just for insurance. Or at least a couple of anti-ship aircraft. And a fighter or two. The AVG got dissolved back in July ( it's August 30, 1942 now ) and Allied seaborne forces, Marines, have been delivered to the New Ireland island chain and are ready for invasion somewhere. The problem is that I don't have enough CV's to protect my ships yet. I figure I need another two CV groups to have enough airborne Wildcats to prevent my ships from getting hit. I'll be getting some long-range P-38's in T41 and their range is 48 which may be far enough to base them on some nearby islands to help CAP the ships invading somewhere. That's only a couple of turns from now. I'll have to try that.

T41, Miri
Following a complicated path Karl has moved some troops to Borneo and has landed at Miri despite being intercepted at least a dozen times. Now I need to vacate the AO and retreat to Java or maybe southern Borneo. I still own Balikpapan and it's got a port and an airfield so I'll defend that with the guys that need to move out of Miri.
