all those Dutch subs are dangerous.....
Hello, everyone....
Q-ball...don't get Japan started on Dutch subs.[8|][:D]
Alright, for the record, the two biggest PITA's are pigboats and the 4E fighters (aka bombers) to the Empire ..... Anything that can kill these efficiently are of the highest value .....
Never really looked where the Dutch pigboats spawn from ..... a worthy early target .... A full KB target on Manilla can bag 25 US pigboats ..... 25 less to deal with as IJN ASW lacks substance .....

At start in stock scenario 1, most Dutch subs are at sea.

I think some come as reinforcements too. A few are damaged at start.

The S-boats out of Manila have decent torpedoes, not as defective as the larger MK-14s, and the fleet boats with the Mk-14s can sow the large amount of mines afforded in Manila. I have played games as the Japanese bombing either Manila or PH, but neither both in the same game. I think I prefer the historic bombing of PH and have had mixed results anywhere from sinking 5 BBs to not sinking any. My current game I attacked Manila with the KB and did sink a sizeable number of S and fleet boats 20-25. The conflict is in late July 43 and he has lost 8 BBs, 6 old US one and 2 British including the PoW. He has used them in amphibious operations in the Marshalls to bombard the Atolls as history showed that was their best possible use. It all depends what your decisions are in where you want to push further and faster. The KB attacking PH places them to assist in a rapid expansion in South and Central Pac maybe even Northern Pac or a tour-de-force along the west coast of the US. I sank two BBs under repair in the Pac NW and he had no clue. Of course that gambit works only once. If you plan on moving as quickly as possible in Malaya to take it and free up major LCUs for landings in DEI or India then attacking either Manila/PI targets or Singapore would be more attractive.

Well, Fletcher obviously ignoring orders sailed west towards Wake Island and spanked the IJN rescue force approaching the island .... pity, all those poor islanders still under Western colonial slavery .....
No matter, the IJN will be back and liberate our Pacific brothers from the Allied tyranny ...
A war crimes investigation has been opened for Fletcher ..... Justice will be done ....

Perhaps it wasn't against orders .... Nimitz, King or even Roosevelt could be behind this ... the Imperial GHQ is going to assign more prosecutors to this investigation ....

ouch
I guess this time it was "goodbye, no luck"
these ships are too big, too beautiful for that ugly business of amphibious assault

Big time loss. Those two ships are the equivalent of 9-10 xAK converted to xAK-T as far as troop lift capacity. Of course those 9-10 will never load/unload as fast. The flip side is if those troops were loaded on 9-10 ships it is likely the butcher's bill would have been much much lower. Its usually a good idea to not load to capacity in high threat areas. I've always liked the small xAPs for fast unloading on high threat areas, always keeping the 5000 capacity ships around for back water transport. In some mods those ships convert to CVEs, is that the case in this one? Either way, I think I'd rather lose two BBs.

Indeed, we are all learning in this game.

Too much for anyone to know everything!
